Jasper, Did you try any number of Humble Defectors? I've been playing nothing but limited for the past few months but I was going to play a standard event next weekend. I'll either play a deck similar to yours but I am planning to go with Humble Defector (3 or 4) and 2 Searing Blood in the main... I...

Thanks for the report. Good job. I've looked to see if I thought MonoBlack could work. Good to see some people are having success with it. Do you think Nykthos would have helped?

Rcwraspy, sounds like your round ten was against the Yoshihiko Ikawa list. http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/pro-tour-khans-of-tarkir-standard-decklists-a-n It is a Wr that goes wide and tall thanks to token makers, phalanx leader and obelisk of urd. Lurker sneaks into the light for a moment

I really want to thank all of you who contribute to this thread and DTR. I get the chance to play Magic once a week and maybe twice if I'm lucky. I lurk here and read what you all are doing and more importantly watch the videos you all post and that has made me a much better player over the course o...

Went 3-1 again last night with same list as before. NerdBoyWonder GP Phoenix list with the Wear//Tear in the board replaced by Mutavault. Match 1 0-2 vs Naya Hexproof. Used NerdBoyWonder's list last night at FNM. Changed the Wear//Tear for a Mutavault in the sideboard. Beat a WU aggro Azorius arrest deck homebrew, Junk list similar to the Duke's, and MonoBlack Aggro all 2-0. Lost 1-2 vs a UWb which was the undefeated winner last night. So, since Fated Conflagration can answer a number of problem cards at instant speed, do you feel you don't need Blind Obedience? Would it be better to cut the Spark Trooper and 1 Satyr Firedancer for the Blind Obedience?

Had a little time to test today. Took MDU's list but switched the 3 Ashley's for YP$. I felt that YP$ main actually weakened the deck against G/R Monsters because you lose the threat of burn and first strike and the occasional use of it. I felt like the speed vs MBD fell off and turned the match gri...

I played vs Jund last Friday and Domri was pretty effective when coupled with SBD and PolyK... He was running a more midrange than aggro slant though. You have the rampagers for post combat activation and if you get Varolz into the act, you will occasionally have awesome scavenged counters on things...

Annihilating fire over bolt of kerranos, if you at more burn, fated conflagration and burning earth in the side... I would think the satyr firedancer could do some good work with your list. Boros Reckoner in the side if you have fated conflagration for that last zing to the face if needed...

Excellent article Z. It is important to remember that decks that have a very high individual card power aren't looking for the jet as much as those decks with intrinsic card synergy. Like Z said, not every deck wants jet but it can provide good sequencing for those that do.

Okay, first post here. I have been playing aggro red variants for the last season and since Fanatic of Mogis was spoiled I've been wanting to do a red devotion list maximizing his potential.
