Sure your not confusing the Burn thread with Boros, Beats, Battlestar Galactica? Flickerwisp isn't something a dedicated burn deck wants to be doing.

Who's the crazy one now, Val?
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

I haven't been able to get in any more serious testing with the Nacatl burn list but I've gone 4-0 in two local tournaments with the this list.
[deck]Naya Nacatl Burn[/deck]
My store is a really competitive LGS so these are pretty tough tournaments. 30+ people usually play, many of them with some number of pro points so I'd like to think the results aren't totally meaningless but, of course, they probably are. I'm close to cutting Eidolon completely but I think I'm struggling with a non-rational attachment to them.

Nice. I'm debating on swapping to Nactl Burn for the two modern tournaments on MTGO this weekend. I really like my smooth two color mana tho
Anyone been playing online and has a read on how aggressive the MTGO meta is?
edit: I think if I'd play Nacatl burn, I'd the two Eidolon you playing for 2 Lavamancers. I don't see the value in Eidolon as a 2 of. Seems awkward and out of place, and I don't think the card is that good (too inconsistent for me)

Depends on the format, I think you'll find that most DE and Large events will be JUST like what is shown on MTGOGOLDFISH while the SE are filled with random combo and aggro.Nice. I qualified for MOCS7 btw I went 5-1 losing against Grixis Tempo with its spellkiting and dragon claw funzies, I misboarded and kept a silly hand so its on me though (he went 6-0 in the end).
I played Robots once (G5), follow by URx for every other game.
P.S. I should mention that the only other 6-0 was from a burn list running Wild Nacatl and Eidolon of the Great Revel
Gah!!
I'm really tanking on the choice of running 4x Wild Nacatl or not... they'll drastically improve our early game while also increasing our horrible top-decks. They're also bad vs Jund (goyf and 10000x removals say hello) and Company.decks.

I think I'll just stick with my GP Charlotte list except -1 Palm for +1 Searing Blood. It's just been working out so smoothly for me and I love the edge I get vs other aggro decks (especially the mirror)

Also real talk. Would you guys keep or mulligan this hand (on the play, g1): Arid Mesa, Grim Lavamancer, Lava Spike, Rift Bolt, EotGR, Boros Charm, Searing Blaze

It's not the worst if you miss your land drops for a couple of turns either. Fetch, cast Lavaman. Spike or suspend Rift Bolt and attack, then you have food for Lavaman next turn.

I actually spoke too soon in the clan thread. I posted right after I lost my last 8 man, but managed to beg myself towards the final two QPs I needed so I ended with 35 QPs right before the server went down lol.

NICE!!
We just need to dodge Amulet, Ad Nauseam, GriselShoal, Merfolk and Boggles then we'll be sweet (I think if we win the first 4-5 games, Jund and Grxis decks should deal with the annoying ones for us).
P.S. I know that sound like we need to dodge a lot but they only make up a very very small part of the metagame.
P.S.S. It starts at 12.00 AM'ish on Sunday for me and if I recall its like 12+ games if you get into top8 (which is 12+ hours) so I expect misplays as the night drags on

Gah~ I blew it
Currently 4-3 so I'm out of top8 I had a shot in two of the games which I lost but I got sloppy for the last one and I wasn't aggressive enough for the 2nd (thou this one was more of a hindsight loss).

I think you are well positioned anyway with this hand, i would go with two swiftspear so you avoid taking tons of damage from eidolon.

Thanks again Whole, I just leeched your deck with few changes.
[deck]RW Burn[/deck]
This is what I'm playing currently in my small meta Saturday tournaments. (10players)
I'm missing 4 Fetches because I don't want to invest when they just could reprinted in a really near future.
I really appreciate the fact that Green mana is not needed to play maindeck spells and you do not have to take 6 damages to fetch both colors to play all your spell against unknown decks.
Then when you side, you know you'll want exactly and this works for the specific matchups you're siding in WW or G requirements.
I'm at the point where I can outplay any opponent in my meta, even tough match-ups like Merfolk. Would need to enlist for some bigger events and see what I'd change to the deck.
There is also this fringe "Rack" deck which I keep losing against because I never see Revelry from my side and once he started his engine I can't do anything... Do you have any advice against this ?

Rack should be very favorable I play once ever full-moon so I'm guessing you've just been really unlucky.
Sometime Smallpox can just wreck us if we don't draw enough lands but beside that just playing the game normally should get you the win since we're faster then Racks.

Here are my Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 Games:
G1 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - Grixis Twin vs Burn Modern 8439632
G2 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - Grixis Tempo vs Burn Modern 8439632
G3 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - UR Twin vs Burn Modern 8439632
G4 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - Grixis Tempo vs Burn Modern 8439632
G5 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - Robots vs Burn Modern 8439632
G6 Magic Online Championship Qualifier 7 - UR Storm vs Burn Modern 8439632
In regards with the finals I ended up going 5-4, I would have posted those videos as well but I reacted rather poorly and ended up rage deleting them (those games started at 12:10 AM on a Monday, each game going for an hour) I had a shot at top8 but I threw away two games and I had some nasty matchups as well since I played against Amulet Bloom, Bogles and GriselShoal.
Anyhow 16 creatures Wild Nacatl burn had two top8 placings showing that:
T1: Creature
T2: 2x Creatures or Eidolon of the Great Revel
Put Burn well ahead against many of the top tier decks (though it makes it worst against aggressive and midrange'ish decks) - I recommend it if your know your metagame is light on aggro and midrange.

Ending your turn 3 doing nothing and give your opponent a fresh hand ?
Could be good against fair decks and might screw combo trying to assemble their pieces. I'm not sold on it.
It also stretching our mana base to a fourth color as we all recognize that only Naya Burn is viable right now.

I've been playing 5c burn in 8-Mans online with success so its more then good enough for FNM, local PTQ or if you know the meta is NOT filled with Aggro. I think RWU could works as well since Green is mainly used for the Enchantment/Artifact Hate which white can also do.
End also isn't a T3 play since its meant to be used after you depleted your hand. I imagine that if End resolves after a depleted hand your almost always going to win (drawing 7 cards in burn at that point should be GG).

Playing in a pptq next Saturday, finally bought guides. Is the green splash worth it? Should I play nacatl? Or just play rw to combat an aggro heavy/groxis meta

Watching others play Nacatl, I have not been impressed at all.
I've always been on RW splashing green for Revelry in the board.

The Nacatl list are great vs all the Tempo decks since T1 Creature with T2 2x Creature or Eidolon of the Great Revel is pretty darn strong.
If your against a mixed bag I would recommend the RW splashing green for Revelry in the board.

Jumped into a Modern SE, I must see Modern feels rather refreshing after grinding Standard for weeks.

If they see it game two and it goes to a third game, siding in Revelry is totally reasonable since it also hits Eidolon (though you may be siding those out if you're on the draw).
I have a PPTQ this Saturday. I'm leaning toward Grixis Control but Burn is my fallback. This is where I'm at with that list (underdeveloped because I've been focusing on Grixis).
[deck]
4 monastery swiftspear
4 goblin guide
2 grim lavamancer
4 eidolon of the great revel
4 lightning bolt
4 lava spike
4 rift bolt
4 boros charm
4 searing blaze
4 skullcrack
2 flame javelin
11 fetches
2 sacred foundry
1 stomping ground
6 mountain
1 grim lavamancer
4 destructive revelry
2 pyrite spellbomb
3 searing blood
2 deflecting palm
3 kor firewalker
[/deck]

Start with the main...
Why not 12 fetches, and 1 more sacred foundry?
Why 4 skullcrack, but zero lightning helix?
Flame Javelin over Shard Volley? (isnt firecraft better )
