After people at my game store got sick of me playing burn I'm toying with Boros Norin in modern and men it's a blast to play. Also quite competitive.... unfortunately i miss a couple of auriok champions that would fit the deck perfectly.

Yeah, it's only me. But what else can you use to describe that car with drums and a guy hanging from ropes in front of a wall of loudspeakers, playing a guitar/flamethrower? It's insane, yet makes totally sense within the constraints of the movie.

Defeating Deathmist Raptor by Adam Yurchick
http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=12558

*reads article*

Solution: Play Deathmist Raptor in your deck.

Five of the decks displayed in the article use the Deathmist Raptor / Den Protector pair. That's not defeating the card as much as it is just using the damn thing against itself.

People sick of playing against Burn.

Your solution: play an even more annoying deck.

Seems reasonable.

You could just say "Fuck you" as you jam foil Lava Spikes, Rift Bolts, and Goblin Guides down their throats.

There's nothing more elitist OR ironic than crushing people with your foil Burn deck.

I am in absolute agreement. Sick of my burn deck? Fine, I will foil it out and beat you even harder. Damn you, now I want to stare at my Judge Bolts while I am at work :(

Beating Deathmist Raptor in three easy steps:
1) Cast Anger of the Gods.
2) Point and laugh at your opponent.
3) Collect prizes.

@khaos:
My god this set is bad. If you happen across shiny Burst Lightning, Mutagenic Growth, or Hurkyl's Recall, I would appreciate any of these. Don't feel obligated to hunt or anything, but if they land in your lap and you aren't immediately disqualified for them being there and have no desire to keep them for yourself, I would appreciate it greatly.

Anything I can do for you, I will.
ever since khaos got his dick wet this place has really gone silent

he doesn't stand a chance at Vegas now with his priorities not on nerdy shit

predicting a swift 0-4 drop
Correction, I will go 2-4 drop. :teach:

But, you are right. I haven't spent nearly as much time studying and practicing for the format as I should be. I'm still ravenously devouring any amount of articles I can get my hands on, and I have a friend running draft simulators and taking notes for me, so there's that.

I didn't plan on getting into a relationship so suddenly, let alone even deviating from my normal routine until AFTER Vegas. Life is weird like that, I guess. But she is really great. Completely amazing.
Remember when Charlize Theron didn't know how to move out of the way of a giant stone in Prometheus
Fuck, all she had to do was run to the damn side!

My burn deck isn't foiled :( but i do my best anyway to make people feel miserable while i cast lava spikes.
And yes Norin can be even more annoying .... many games end up in endless board stalls with me at hundreds life points. If i win game 1 i usually plan to go to time and win 1-0 XD but there are also draws where you start with double champion of the parish + norin and win fast

In his defense, if there is a movie where that expression fits like a glove, its precisely this Mad Max movie.

Also  at all this heresy about the first movie being overrated. This has the best car chase scenes of all movie history on par with Bullit

I'm betting you are not a fan of the "de-specialized" version of the trilogy then.

Maverick is eagerly waiting for a reboot of the three first star war movies. Maybe Vin Diesel can play the role of Han Solo this time.

Every scene from every movie shot before 1987 looks like the "oh my goooooood" scene from Troll 2 to me.
As always, your opinions on everything are objectively terrible.

So, not counting the Star Wars trilogy, you don't like:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Tron
First Blood
The Evil Dead
Platoon
Alien
Aliens
The Breakfast Club
Ghostbusters
Blade Runner
Stand By Me
Back to the Future
Blue Velvet
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Just to name a few.

ok if you cherry pick pre1987 movies then compare any of those to the dark knight or finding nemo and you'll see its pretty obvious maverick has a point

The first 3 indiana jones movies were exactly as bullshit as the newest one there's a scene in one of them where they jump out of an airplane with an air-raft and live is it really that unbelievable that indy survives a nuke by hiding in a fridge?

It's a lot of work to watch old movies in context and the "everything before 1987 sucks" line of thinking is usually held by people who are sick of the shit of the crowd who parades the thought "modern movies suck I wish they'd bring back 80s music wow justin bieber sucks"
