Standard hobos who play budget garbage should be looked upon with suspicion.

Any California players here?
I'm going to SCG LA and want to know what the meta's like. In AZ, UB(g) control was very highly represented last weekend, probably because it wrecks RW. If RW's target #1 and UB(x) is around to fight it, perhaps an all-in deck would be able to dominate. The only problem with this idea is there might be a lot of Abzan and GR (since this last open), which own all-in decks... What do you think?

When I played at regionals there was a decent amount of red agro, UW heroic, GR decks of all strips, and a couple abzan.Any California players here?

I played Mono-red which was surprisingly well positioned against all the decks I played, but the flipside is that there's a large number of aggressive decks and correlated drown in sorrows/bile blights in so-cal tourneys. At this point, I have no idea what to play as I was disgusted at Abzan's inability to deal with stormbreath dragons. Abzan was fantastic against everything that didn't have hasty fliers though.

I've been thinking Jeskai tempo could make a comeback if everyone is starting to get off Rhino decks.
I'm unfamiliar with the LA meta since I'm farther inland in the IE. All the noteworthy players out here are primarily control and G/x Devotion. I've been talking to a lot of people out here and it seems they're all going with the noted decks.

But how can it chain rhinos to rocks without playing chained to the rocks?I think Jeskai might actually be good now since it legit beats rhino decks for the same reason the RW decks do and it destroys the big green decks since they can't beat a mantis rider.
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Actually relevant: I think it might be correct to be on the draw in rabble mirrors. You can't realistically play turn 3 rabble on the play against RW or Jeskai which mitigates one of the perceived advantages of being on the play and the RW/x mirrors often come down to stormbreath advantage which while counter-intuitive is often easier to achieve on the draw since you need to actually hit your 5th land drop which can be tricky on the play.
I don't know, might be insane, but it reminds me of Jund mirrors in RTR where despite farseek on the play being insane, you wanted to be on the draw to hit all your land drops and have the CA. With the efficiency of removal, you don't even hold the tempo advantage on the play as well as you normally would.

Rules question:
If multiple Flamewake Phoenix cards are in the graveyard, can they all be brought back with just one [mana]R[/mana] at the beginning of combat?

^No, cause that would be busted.
To add to my previous proposal, being on the draw is also nice since the rw decks generally only have 4/5 twos giving you a higher chance to hit your 2 drop when you're on the draw.

No, each Phoenix in the graveyard puts a trigger on the stack that says "Pay R to return this to the battlefield". You have to handle each trigger separately.Rules question:

Bullshit LP.I refuse to play a deck when I'm not practiced in the mirror and I'm both not practiced in, nor interested in practicing the UB mirror.
Having said that, DECK IS GREAT right now.
You mean to say you've been practicing the jeski mirror? We've been playing this deck for 4 seasons now "essentially". Its the same damn archetype and you should play it.
However.... G/r devotion will be huge so I mean if your logic revolved more around that matchup it would make more sense. I wish you the best either way gl man.

Jeskai Mirrors pretty straightforward, Play well, draw more burn.Bullshit LP.I refuse to play a deck when I'm not practiced in the mirror and I'm both not practiced in, nor interested in practicing the UB mirror.

UB is a pretty good choice in the meta. Decent vs. G devotion, good vs. RW, decent vs. Jeskai, decent vs. abzan. Basically a bunch of 50/50ish matchups while being favored vs. the best deck.
