Had the sealed PTQ today. Went 6-1, being in 4th place in the final round before cut to top 8. I got paired down and could not draw in. I lost that round due to mana flood both games, finishing in 10th. Was so close yet again :/. Had a terrible pool, ending up playing a pile of rw cards and Godsend....

That's the X factor people don't realize I bring to the table. I'm doing a Sealed PTQ this Sunday. Hopefully I pull some sweet stuffz. If I fail terribly I have the chance to do well in Atlanta 2 weeks after. Sealed Errday!

I've done very well with affinity despite not being great at the format yet. I've dedicated my s/b instead of hate to cards that protect from hate -- IE spell pierce, thoughtseize, and apostle's blessing (BLOWOUTVILLE). But if you don't draw any and they do you're just dead, lol.

Lost in the finals for GPT Atlanta, got 8 land and never drew my 2nd color in game 3. Would've loved the 2 byes, but oh well! Drafted a sweet G/B deck with pharika, courser, and eater of hope.

Haven't been able to play much on MTGO due to prerelease and all the RL stuff happening, but I snuck a cube in tonight -- and I'm in with HornofAmmon. He lost, haha. I'm playing a pile of green with rafellos and genesis wave. I will not win this tournament (most likely) but neither will horn, lol.

The full block limited is going to be awesome. I'm actually excited doing the sealed ptq in tampa and then the gp in atlanta having seen this set spoiled. Full block sealed is always the most fun for me too =D.

The format changes so much faster on mtgo than paper. Decks have a much longer lifespan in paper (except for high level REL)

Modern has helped me become a far better standard player. I was really surprised actually. I'm still by no means great, but the amount of I've learned about the game playing it has helped me so much in standard and even limited to an extent. I think that its due to a better understanding of the game...

Ya I second what Ham said for what deck to play. I jumped into modern playing affinity, and it took me well over 100 games to get used to playing my own deck -- let alone how to play it vs the rest of the format. I have fallen in love with the format though, and I'm sure you will too =D.

Gotcha. Ya your deck is the first modern deck that I legitimately feel I am at a huge disadvantage playing. Thankfully you are the only one running it =D.

How did that affinity deck beat you? You're deck is so tuned vs affinity that I have serious trouble beating yours. Did you just draw poorly and he get the nuts?

@Ham -- first off, always bon for 2. 2nd -- think of your hardest MUs, and does green help you with those. I feel you lose some points to fast decks. Personally I think your list is tuned pretty tightly -- with some room for variance in the SB.

I think it could be a thing, and it'd be nice to play cards that haven't gotten hardly any play since they've been out. Firemane is a powerful card, but it is so reliant on other factors.

I play it vs control as a counterspell to a counterspell. The best use of it is when they sphinxes, you crack, they counter, and you wild ricochet to counter both the rev and counter. You need 6 mana for that, but in the control MU that's a pretty common place to be. It's not the most consistent car...
