I didn't see his decklist but below is what I came to after putting it together and play testing against the field. I haven't gave this a whirl in a competiton yet (FNM is in modern mode til next Friday) but I went the goldfish route main and sideboard to shore up issues. [deck]Creature (30) 2x Athr...

At my game day a Bw variant made it to second. It played the full grip of enchantment creatures and some super tech : Ethereal Armor . The card was crazy good when it stuck generally making it read +2/+2 first strike. I was thinking of expanding on it playing keening apparition and spirit of the lab...

What are your thoughts on Shadow Alley Denizen? Helps Pain Seer stay active early and can help punch your last bit of damage through.

This is a bit of a tangent but I figured this would be the best place for opnions (its sorta on topic). I currently play UR Delver for modern and came across the 2nd place finish for the SCG Open in LA. http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=65248 I noticed there was qui...

You can play crazy tech with me and run 3 Boros Reckoner in SB. I play an even split of U and W producers including all 3 U/W duals. 18 white sources is risky but I never anticipate playing reckoner before T4 (which runs the same line of verdict). It totally screws creature aggro and lends itself to...

Pretty legit synergy w/ Chandra's Pheonix. Chump block, kill w/ Searing Blood, then snag your pheonix back.

But in this particular instance niether form of the creature is bad. If your oppennent gives you a 5/5 you know it will probably die but they still have to use a piece of removal. The non-tribute form speaks for itself. Vexing Devil didnt have two board prescence options (or fly), I honestly don't s...

This is what I've been tossing around lately. LI is nice in both the early and late game turning on 1-3cc creatures then Assemble. I've been back n forth on the Reckoner or Mortars though. My meta has quite a bit of G/r and G/w aggro variants I like the late game board clear mortars brings but the R...

@MDU Pyrewild for me just seems like a shoe in if you are playing Ashley. Its probably all preference but its kind of how BTE and FFS are in the take both or none category. I want a cleaner curve with ashley but I also want them to have potential into the late game (outside of burn combat tricks). I...

The meta would have to be packed with W/x aggro/midrange variants to to really make Glare worth it and even then our burn package suites that role fairly well.Sounds like some are having difficulty in white based midrange matches. Glare of Heresy?

Try the version with Ash and the version without Ash a few times against BG, Gx and Ux Devotion. Tell me your thought after that, if you still believe Ash is better then removal in those MU then so be it (We may have different play styles nothing wrong with that). Its probably because I dance aroun...

I went to a smaller FNM to try out the R/W variant. Suffice to say I beat myself a couple time primarily to not recurring the phoenix 3 times in one game and my not checking my sideboard before playing in another (still busting 3 years of rust off :P). I will say that while playing Pyrewild Shaman, ...

@Pedros Does the life gain from Last Breath swing the match to unfavorable? I know Beckon Apparition requires MoW to attack but it has potential if we are looking for cheaper spells.

Isn't Titan's Strength just so much better than the shaman in this deck? The extra scry really emphasizes the strengths of this deck, not to mention strength can net you a token, be used defensively, and is cheaper in this mana intensive deck. Scry one now is probably about as powerful as pay one n...

I was poking around for some additional cheap answers for MoW and found: Beckon Apparition Also found an idea for G/R ramp decks: Soul Tithe I am digging soul tithe for G/R especially. Forcing them to reinvest in a single arbor or let it go for 1W is pretty legit. It can also hate other creatures li...
