That doesn't necessarily mean that, but I've always thought people were assuming way too much in regards to enemy fetches in the first place. I've been thinking manlands the whole time.

Standard Goblins is going to be something else with all those token generators, Denizen, and Rabblemaster.

Looking through Modern, Goblins is way too fair unless they reprint Goblin Ringleader with the Elf version. Piledriver has the distinct issue of driving into Bolts and Kolaghan's Command, what I would argue are the current defining removal spells of the format, in addition to suffering from a very linear stream of pressure and no major way to cheat. Some rando beat LSV's attempt at learning Amulet Bloom with a Goblins deck, which may be a good baseline to start with, but there definitely has to be some way for the deck to generate card advantage aside from vomiting its hand on the board and hoping the opponent dies.

Also, Standard Elves vs Goblins is a world I want to live in. I don't care that this iteration doesn't include Wrens Run Vanquisher, Tarmogoyf, and Nameless Inversion.

Modern Goblins already goldfishes better than Burn most of the time. Most Modern decks also are not prepared to go wide. The deck is definitely getting a boost with Piledriver and it's already the perfect shell for Atarka's Command.

Sylvan Messenger is a straight reprint from apocalypse, they didn't rename it.
Unfortunately Goblin Piledriver is number 151, and card number 152 is Infectious bloodlust. So, given that they are numbered in alphabetical order (they are, right ? ) , Ringleader should npt be a possibility, while lackey or matron could be..
Piledriver is fantastic, but ringleader would have opened a lot more options than just straight aggro.

MTGO prices for goblin staples have spiked. Auntie's Hovel was 0.2 and is now 0.8 tix. Same with Goblin Chieftain and Legion Loyalist. Even Goblin Guide is joining in on the fun.

the thing i don't understand is why Sylvan Messenger over the goblin ringleader or merfolk ringleader (it exists too). They just printed collected company in green that basically does almost the same, so green looks like the color that needed the card advantage effect the least.
A very welcome reprint would be gempalm incinerator too. Sparksmith or goblin sharpshooter would be unbeatable for things like infect or elves .

Reprinting piledriver without flavor text is very very lame though. the flavor text is the best thing of the card. maybe they did ii to please people who own an onslaught playset
