I was just trying him out, but you're right that he's slow and probably a better top end to an aggro deck than a middle beater.I feel like Butcher isn't good enough. There are times I feel like he's not good enough in standard. Stormbreath could be interesting though. Is it really better than Thundermaw Hellkite or Demigod of Revenge though?I was playing this for lulz.
[Deck]Creatures:12
4 Brimaz, King of Oreskos
4 Butcher of the Horde
4 Stormbreath Dragon
Spells:23
3 Burst Lightning
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Pillar of Flame
4 Bitterblossom
4 Lightning Helix
4 Volcanic Fallout
Lands:25
4 Arid Mesa
2 Blood Crypt
4 Bloodstained Mire
2 Godless Shrine
4 Marsh Flats
2 Mountain
2 Plains
4 Sacred Foundry
1 Swamp
Sideboard:15[/deck]
He could easily be some combination of Ajani Vengeant, Chandra and Elspeth.
I like SBD a lot because he dodges Bolt, Path and can punch through white fliers like Restoration Angel and Collonade.
Demigod is good, too, I wouldn't fault you for trying him in a deck with better GY synergy, or a deck with Liliana.

Hey so question for you guys,
Reentering standard with an initial bankroll of $100 + whatever value is left in my old Standard trade binder (RtR block + M14 + Theros, BtG and some JOU). The decks I've done the best with are RW Burn, Hellrider aggro, Sledgehammer, and KDW. RW Burn being my most enjoyable. Are there any decks that are being worked on feasible to assemble for playing constructed or should I just focus on Limited for a while?
Is it a good investment to grab a UC playset of Khans for $40 and reduce my singles capital to $60? Im concerned that landbase issues and rarity may be cutting me out from being competitive this season in Constructed which remains my favorite format. I've learned my lesson of playing "budget" versions of bigger decks, the compromise made to reduce price are not comparable to designing a fresh deck with a solid gameplan that has a low rarity count.

Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.

Standard hobos who play budget garbage should be looked upon with suspicion.

They're both very good, but they don't just drop into any old deck with red/white. In a deck where you're clearing the board or gumming it up with tokens, both of those PWs do good work.I've never really found Ajani V or Knight errant to be good.I was just trying him out, but you're right that he's slow and probably a better top end to an aggro deck than a middle beater.I feel like Butcher isn't good enough. To me, there's nothing enjoyable about doing nothing but ruining other peoples' day. That's what you do when you play draw go. It's not enjoyable for me or them, so what's the point? I'd rather interact, see some cool stuff happen, and let the chips fall where they may. I like winning, but I even get bored of that sometimes. I think that's why I've been playing so much EDH lately. I want my opponents to beat me sometimes. I want to see epic things happen. I want everyone to enjoy themselves.
There is nothing interesting, epic or enjoyable about countereverythingdrawcardscountereverythingdrawcardsdropthreatyoucantinteractwithwatchyousquirmthenwin.dec

I had a fun night after FNM. After playing the Thunderstruck drinking game until one dude puked all over the bar table, I got to see some dude get a beer mug smashed over his face and fucking bleed everywhere. Apparently, the dude's buddy had PSTD from a tour in Afghanistan and the idiot jokingly put his hands around the guy's throat, which resulted in a bloody mess. The cool thing was that the bar band just kept playing while all hell briefly broke loose.
The guy that puked everywhere? We called him a cab cuz he was too drunk to drive his crotch rocket home. The funny thing is, the cab took him to lock up his bike and he was so drunk he locked up some other dude's bike.
Of course, everyone ended up at IHOP later, where I ended up ordering item after item just to see the waitress walk back and forth because her ass was just fucking epic. And in true Khaos fashion, I managed to embarrass myself by drunkenly announcing to half the table that she's hot as fuck, and when I look up she was standing right there with more food for me.
The last thing I remember before stumbling up the stairs to my apartment was laughing so hard in the IHOP parking lot that I was literally rolling on the pavement.

In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.

Nothing like endless streams of Abzan Reanimator mirrors to entertain you...
My LGS announced a PTQ for next month and I have no idea what to play. I've been on Sidisi Whip and Jeskai decks since rotation but I'm kind of grossed out by Hornet Queen mirrors. The format sure did turn stale quickly.
Am I the only one that is completely turned off by UW Heroic? It looks like a pile of shit.
