Rag and black night are more for control, cairne is a fantastic midgame play, 2 yetis for 1!
It's too bad we don't have a secret subforum where we can coordinate troll attempts where only we can see so that we don't have to catch on because only one of us is an actual rocket scientist.

I just started playing hearthstone a few days ago, and am enjoying it so far. Playing a mage, cause I like how it plays, and I'm too lazy to try and unlock all the stuff for the other classes, though I am tempted to try warrior...
Anyway, I went up against a warlock just now, and it was quite funny. He was playing a murlock deck, and, well...
And then...
Then he just left, lol.

Just had the stupidest game, in all the best ways. It was back-and-forth, each of us having the advantage at different points. And at the very end of it all...
We had both cast LITERALLY EVERY CARD IN OUR DECKS.
He almost had me dead several times, but I was able to trade smart and the high amount of powerful and valueful cards in my deck made my topdecks good. It was SO close. So much fun

Yeah, I've won through fatigue a couple of times lol
TB has a gimmick deck based around forcing draw and bouncing the board, killing anything that is bounce when the hand has 10 cards in it.

Heh, I've seen him play it... Atually, he's why I decided to try hearthstone to begin with. TB is awesome
It was just really cool cause it wasn' like that deck where that's the point. It just was so even that it got to that point. That said, fatigue didn't come in to play really. We had both only taken 1 point of fatigue at this point.
It's probably not sll that special, but I definitely enjoyed it, lol.

Alright, someone tell me how to play this game. Started yesterday. I've put about 200 of that blue shit into new cards for a priest deck and wreck shit with it in constructed, but I'm complete shit at arena. Something like 2 wins in 2 runs. I always find good cards the first few picks, then all the other shit in my next packs has the same mana cost, so my curve sucks. I'm assuming most of what has been posted before is irrelevant, so what's good now that can start me going pretty much infinite?

In arena, the top classes to pick from are Mage, Rogue, Paladin, and Druid with rogue being the worst of those options, but still tier 1.5
Arena is all about board control and CA which should affect your play and picks obviously.
If you search the net you can find arena pick lists for each class and generic guides on what makes a good arena minion, but it's pretty similar to limited in magic really. Bombs, removal, etc.
The most important thing is having non-shitty creature base. Basically, all the 1 drops are terrible and should be avoided if possible outside of worgen infiltrator(stealth) and flame imp in warlock(3/2) because they all either die to hero powers for -1 card or they only have 1 power which is atrocious.
2 drop creatures should be at least 2/3 or 3/2 so that they can be either durable or able to trade up. It's critical to have a decent amount of 2 drops because if 1 player has a 2 drop on two(
or 1 with coin) and the other player whiffs, the player with the INTIATIVE gets to dictate the pace of the game by being ahead on tempo and controlling the trades that are made which is powerful.
Having a good curve isn't actually that big of a deal. Since 1 drops are so bad, it's rare that you get aggro'd out making it easier to recover from clunky draws most of the time. I've definitely won games where my hand was clogged with 4 drops for the first couple of turns of the game.
Expensive minions are important. Basically, most decks do want some big idiot creature like a war golemn(7/7 for 7) because you need a way to take over the game once they go long and the fatasses of the game can do that for you in addition to usually being worth 2 cards from you opponent to kill. This is the one way hearthstone differs from magic as due to the mana system, you can always cast your expensive cards making them MUCH more valuable as 7 drops are mostly unplayable in magic limited but are fairly good in
hearthstone arena.
Back to the Big 4 classes, it probably helps to know that they're top 4 because they are all good at board control. 3 of them have hero powers that deal damage to creatures and the third straight up makes dudes. Additonally they all have either very powerful removal(fireball, frostbolt, swipe, backstab eviscerate) or in paladins case, while having little to no actual kill spells, they have a bunch of buff/debuff abilities which function as pseudo removal by giving your creatures divine shield with ardent protector or shrinking opponents creatures to ineffective with ardent peackeeper not to mention the powerful consecration.
Lastly, if you don't know what to do, just focus on advancing your board and accruing CA. Review your games and try to keep track of who's up on cards as the game goes on and you'll quickly find that unless your the mage deck with 5 fireballs, it's almost always the guy with more cards winning. Always kill the creatures before attacking the player. You're
honestly better off pretending that you can't even attack the player if you have creatures of yours that can kill creatures of theirs.

Good low/mid range removal in claw, bite, and swipe along with powerful mid/late game cards such as keeper of the grove, druid of the claw, and tree, the 8/8 taunt mofo who's name I can't remember.
One of my 11 win runs was with a busted druid deck that among other things had 3 swipes.

Their epics are also pretty busted. A couple of times, I've gotten ancient of war which is simply not a fair card.
Just avoid taking ramp affects if possible. There are definitely times where it can't be avoided and you'll even see opponents do broken things with innervate against you, but overall, they're generally very bad as you lose card advantage and it's unlikely you get value out them from drawing them early and having something to ramp into.
It's not like constructed where you know you have an auctioneer in your deck making your turn 11 wild growth into a draw two or have a curve of low end removal and high end taunts/legends/bombs.

Bragging Rights.
People are also more dickish to you when you have legend backs which makes winning sweeter and losing more bitter.
But other than that, know. It's just the carrot that keeps people playing.

Just got my first ever 12 win Arena run (usually get 5-7, lately been getting 2 or 3 wins =/), woohoo. Not on-screen is one Guardian of Kings. Also I guess 0 losses is good?

If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know if you're being lied to?
