Which General? Two Choices!

I'm juggling between two General's.
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or
Xira Arien.
One for straight mono white hate bear's and stax effects, the other for general disruption and big mana combos (
Tooth and Nail into
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker +
Zealous Conscripts, etc).
I'm not going for crazy hardcore Commander, just fun stuff based on General's I don't see used a lot whose art and effects I like.
Help me choose... Or shall I just build both?

Hmm, white does have a lot of ways to deal with pretty much anything. You might run a bit short on efficient beaters in mono white, which shouldn't be a problem if you play a 1v1 tempo game, but it could become worse when playing multiplayer variants.
3-color
goodness is a great combination to easily build a deck around and just stick in all of the good cards, powerful but it might become a bit boring to play in the long run.
All in all it depends a lot on what you want out of a game. For me, a Thalia deck seems more interesting to build

Thanks Manasjap.
I should also state for the record that I also am aware that Thalia is the stronger card and better General (not saying this to the above post, just to anyone reading), I am not really comparing their power levels as much as which can make the more interesting deck. Mono white does seem interesting, it could have several takes on it. Xira's deck is slightly built already in my mind.

Xira doesn't seem like an interesting general, you'd be hard pressed to make a deck that's not just BRG goodstuff. Thalia has a theme that you can play off of at least

I'd buld Jund though, people hate stax.

What I mean is this would just be goodstuff as opposed to a general like Kresh, that can be built around.

I don't mind good stuff, I also don't mind building stuff that annoys people. I don't have an EDH playgroup or anything so this might end up being a 1v1 list for the time being, I duno. I still have a Helm of Obedience in my trade binder so I could throw the combo in Thalia for shits and giggles. Mono White doesn't get to combo off much.

Xira Arien seems like the funner one. Who likes WW?
Hellkite Tyrant - Mycosynth Lattice = Instant win.
Melira, Sylvok Outcast - Sac Outlet - Murderous Redcap = Infinite Damage.
Hellkite Charger - Bear Umbra = Infinite Combat.
Massacre Wurm - Natural Affinity = Bye bye lands.

Cauldron of Souls/Persist{
Puppeteer Clique,
Woodfall Primus } and [card]Ashnod's Altar[/card].
Adun Oakenshield+ Evoking.
Ali from Cairo with Sacrifice and Revive effects.
Umbral Mantle,
Sword of the Paruns, Staff combos.
Maze of Ith/Cradle+
Krosan Restorer/
Argothian Elder
[card]Hell's Caretaker[/card],

Could even go Land Screw and Go with Land kill and [card]Gaea's Liege[/card] type cards.
Xira Shenanigans, Landkill, RampBurn all look much better then blah White Beats

If you don't have an EDH playgroup, why build a deck at all?

For fun? Making new decks are part of why I got into EDH in the first place. It helped that a few friends of mine go along with what I want and built some too, but even without a steady EDH group you could always find other people willing to play. Singleton formats are fun anyway.

But building a deck only to never play it hardly seems worth the time.

Never and rarely are different things though. And anyway, like I said, you can always find people to play with if you really want to.

People are always asking me if I have an EDH deck on me, and I always have to say no. I'm a social butterfly Checkbox.

well there ya go.
Also, do these people not have multiple EDH decks to lend? That's one of the main reasons I have 12.

Who knows. I'd much rather have my own. I'm a big advocate of the pimp factor.

I've never seen a mono-white deck do anything reasonably good in EDH before - there's just so few sources of card advantage available, and aggro-weenies are no good. If you do decide to run Stax, though, do Possessed Portal. Probably the most unfair stax lockout ever - you can't use card draw to squirm your way out of it.
My vote's for BRG, many more different ways to take it.
