Need volunteers for site improvements

Allright people, the site is looking more and more good. This is in no small part thanks to you guy who are providing a lot of content.
We might be going live soon, so I'd like to ask some volunteer work for these things:
1) A site logo, even if the name MTGCommunity might be temporary.
We need four versions:
300px * 100px light and dark skin
150px * 50px light and dark skin
2) A tutorial on how to change skin and other important things for these forums, complete with print screen images
3) Populating the rumor mill with threads compiling the latest info on the upcoming magic products
a) Judge foils Karakas and Hierarch
b) Commander's Arsenal
c) Magic color book (?)
d) Magic comics and promo cards (standstill)
Any help on these would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'll see if I can whip up some images...

I can try to start on the tutorials, this seems like something that does not take much skill.
Before doing this I need to finish up some uni stuff (writing research proposals, yay), so it might take a while to get done.

Feedback. Also need to know what dark skin I'm supposed to be looking at.

I like it.

I like it, it just feels kind of skewed to the left and I want to look at the MTGC more than ommunity on the right.

Fair. Perhaps MTG could be on top of the Community?

Honestly spelling out Magic: The Gathering might make it look more balanced.
in addition to moving Community to the bottom

Lucid Lime is the fan favorite dark skin according to the statistics in here

It does have a better weight to it now...I also added a stroke to the outside of the lettering for legibility. I wanted to keep the bluish-purple color for Community because it's one of my favorite colors and pops on the page. I chose a darker color for Magic: The Gathering to look muted yet informative.
Lucid Lime is definitely the coolest. I like the black/green scheme and can get pretty creative with it. Blue/white is just bleh.

GJ!
Feedback: I liked the first one because it looked like an eye. Can you make the word "Community" bend down, to see if it looks better?

Yeah I liked that too. How about this?
And the small version. Looks like a dark mage being summoned.
Should the text be lighter? Do we need a transparency-friendly version?
EDIT: Adding one with a lighter text color and moving the text down so you can see the dark mage thing better.

This is the best one yet.

Yeah, I like it.
And if you see Lucid Lime's default image, it has transparency, so I would assume that we do want that.

The small one with the "MTG" being on the bottom left corner of the image is by far the best.

One with transparency, one without. Still working on the small one for lucid lime.
It's very easy to change stuff so be picky. I'm also assuming these are temporary until we figure out a domain name. At that point I'll come up with something more original.

I'm not a fan of that at all.
The green background one just looks bad in a million different color-clashing ways. The top one looks serviceable, but I would change the MTG logo from Brown to about anything else (Black?)
I still vote the first and third one in the set of blue logos

It was a little rushed...
I'll start from scratch and see what I come up with.

Ooh, I see something I could do!
2) A tutorial on how to change skin and other important things for these forums, complete with print screen images
It'll take me some time, but I can get this done. What are the things I should show? Also, should I show it for each available skin? Stuff's in different places on just about all of them, iirc.
I'm thinking everything. An explanation of the different folders in the control panel and what they do should cover about what I'm thinking, plus how to use the search function. Individual explanations, such as changing things, would be with the rest of the explanation of their folder.
In fact, I'll just start working on the template and the various screenshots while I wait for input. I'm also going to do this from a gimmick account so that it'll be from the standpoint of a new member instead of a moderator.
I want to do this because this would have been so helpful to me when
I joined Sally.

That would be awesome Manders, thanks for volunteering, it was exactly what I had in mind.
Btw start inviting Mafia players if you wish.

Sweet, I've already got it outlined and started taking screen shots.
Weird thing I noticed. When you view it as a guest, it's the vphpbb3 skin (the one that looks like Sally default), but when you create an account (Test Dummy 2 ftw) and login, it switches to prosilver. Is it supposed to do that?
I will start inviting Mafia players, thanks.

Its because the guest skin stayed at what was the default when the site was created (vphpbb3).
I can change this in the sql database.
Will look into the blogs plugin, promised

Manders: we have it already:

@ G_R: try reuploading, or clearing the cache. Didn't mess with it

I think it's something you have to do on the server:
https://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/adding-a-favicon/
And I think Manders means this:

I have the Wasteland's KCW favicon stored in my computer. It's not letting me attach it here, but I could work around it if you think that's something we'd like to have here...
Otherwise, I can make one out of any image, but Zionite might use what he used in our current logo to make one himself.

Imagine you come here for the first time.
How do you tailor your account for having your favorite skin? what are the cool features of this forum (like the egoposts function, linking to cards directly, linking to youtube videos directly, etc...)
Basically what did you wish someone had told you instead of having learned it yourself when you arrived here in the first place?
