Sid Meier's Civilization V is a turn-based, 4X computer game that the player leads a civilization from prehistoric times into the future on a procedural-generated map, achieving one of a number of different victory conditions through research, diplomacy, expansion, economic development, government and military conquest. The game is based on an entirely new game engine with hexagonal tiles instead of the square tiles of earlier games in the series.

So here is my lets play om MTGC. I want it to be a traditional lets play in the sense that you guys make all the decisions. So, first up, what Civilization should I pick?

Continents
This creates an Earth-like world with several big continents and some smaller islands.

Pangaea
This creates a world with one huge continent and possibly some smaller islands.

Archipelago
This creates a world with many large and small islands, but no full continents. This is a good world if you like navies!

Real world map
This creates a real world map

This lets play will be all screenshots and text so you won't have to watch long videos of my down under attitude. Through the entire campaign we
will all discuss what should happen next!

What kind of victory should I go for?

I don't know anything about the game. What types of victory are there? (conquer the world, for America!!!)

Science (First to have space travel)
Domination (Capture 3 capitals you don't own while keeping your own)
Cultural victory (Pass 5 full trees of social policies, basically you have a politically correct society)
Score victory (Civilization with highest score by year 2050 I thing it is) basically everything you do adds to your score.
Diplomatic victory (Build the UN near the end of the game and have everyone vote to stop all wars and have peace, this is one of the harder victories as it helps having city states love you and only certain few civilizations help towards city state influence)

Once you reach one you win, if another civilization does you lose. You usually shoot for one victory, you don't have to decide beforehand but certain civ's are specific with what win con you should shoot for.

Have we scouted out any other potential city locations besides the hills? I'd be more inclined to go +2 sci myself.

The reasoning is that I plan on building 2 cities soon and I can out one to my east away from the mountains but there is no rush to get there as it is all mine. The mountains are a bit further and will be taken soon. Plus its good to just have a production city on the front line, pumping out troops.
