Dies to Removal

Hello everyone and welcome to 'Greatest Idea Mafia'. Stolen from the mafiascum wiki, this variably-sized, probably imbalanced, wacky game uses an interesting mechanic for determining roles:

1. Before the game begins, each player will receive 3 cards from a 'deck'. (more about the deck later)
2. Each player will take their 3 cards, and choose a role and alignment based on two of them. for example:

rezombad is dealt the following cards:
Town Vanilla
Werewolf Ninja
Town Bloodhound

He can use cards 1 and 2 to choose: Town Ninja or Werewolf Vanilla
He can use cards 2 and 3 to choose: Werewolf Bloodhound or Town Ninja
He can use cards 1 and 3 to choose: Town Bloodhound or Town Vanilla

2b. if there are not at least 50% town roles, new cards will be sent out and roles will be repicked
3. at the beginning of day 1, each player's unused card will be revealed.

After a majority vote has been reached, the game will enter twilight till i can get around to posting a death scene and whatever, feel free to post until night happens.

Do not bring outside influences into the game - this includes threats, bribes, wagers, promises, alliances, etc. Using knowledge from previous games is perfectly acceptable, but try not to carry grudges from one game to another.
Do not talk outside the game thread about an ongoing game except where allowed to do so by your role.
Do not cryptoclaim.

So here's the deal. I'm going to full claim in my first post. My three cards were Town Black Goo, Werewolf Vanilla and Town Supersaint.

I chose Town Black Goo. Anyone who targets me will become a member of the Cult.

Why am I telling you this? Because I don't want people to join the cult. I'm also counting on the mafia not wanting to join the cult (why would they when a nightkill is so much more effective), thereby keeping me alive into the endgame. I could have chosen town Supersaint instead, but when was the last time I was actually lynched? I think I'm more valuable to the town alive than dead, even if the act of dying takes down a random player in the process (or more likely I would die to a nightkill, making that ability useless).

err, second and third questions don't mesh the way I would have liked because of how I phrased them but I think you get the idea. I can clarify if needed.

If everything you say here is completely true then I like that you posted this. But that's a big if.

Why did you not choose werewolf as your faction?

I almost did. In fact, I submitted exactly that with the intention of posting exactly what I just did (claiming Town Black Goo and saying my third card was Town Vanilla or something). A few hours later, I edited my PM to strike that out and chose Town Black Goo instead.

I think choosing Werewolf would have worked out okay for me. Everyone knows that I like to play as town, so maybe I'd stand a better chance at winning if everyone believed that. Claiming Black Goo would have kept other anti-town factions (and town vigs) off my ass. Perfect, right? Not quite, because I would have to lie and generally would have enjoyed the game less. I decided that I ultimately would rather just play as Town Bulletproof than pretend to be playing as Town Bulletproof. That is my favourite role, after all.

Already off to a pretty interesting start here, such a bold claim right off the bat could go either way couldn't it? I'm not going to weigh into it too much this early on, I just feel like we could go in circles with the mind games the claim starts though.

To Raspy, no I did not edit my message. It was specified that if not enough town were in the game though, new cards would be sent out and roles would be repicked, don't know if that had something to do with it. I only received the one message however, so I don't know if this happened or not.

Yeah, you didn't know that? As long as it's still sitting in your outbox (not yet read by the recipient) you can edit or delete the message before they receive it. Comes in handy sometimes, though they do get notification that it was edited/deleted.

I had another town card without vanilla attached to it.

I discarded the duplicate town align to hide which abilities were given out as choices.
