Hey folks! So here's another brew I've been working on. The basic idea is to emulate some of the strategies in the new Abzan "demonic zoo" deck but in a Mardu shell.
[deck]4x butcher of the horde
3x goblin rabblemaster
4x herald of torment
4x war name aspirant
2x Chief of the edge
4x seeker of the way
4x lightning strike
3x Crackling doom
2x hero's downfall
3x mardu charm
3x sorin, solemn visitor
4x battlefield forge
2x caves of koilos
2x mountain
4x nomad outpost
2x swamp
4x bloodstained mire
4x temple of silence
1x temple of triumph
1x urborg, tomb of yawgmoth
Sideboard
3x anger of the gods
2x erase
2x hero's downfall
3x hushwing gryff
3x thoughtseize
2x wingmate roc[/deck]
Obviously there are SOME similarities but both clans have their ups and downs. Essentially the duo of rakshasa deathdealers and fleecemanes are replaced with seekers and aspirants. Early game, they all serve a similar purpose of being able to hit through caryatids and have added upsides. In place of heir of the wilds in this deck we have chief of the edge which as a warrior lord helps all the other non-demon creatures in the deck.
Herald of torment makes an appearance in this deck too as taking creatures to the air is always good. Butcher of the horde is our siege rhino and of course we get to use rabblemasters which synergise well with both butcher and chief of the edge.
The mana base and sideboard are still works in progress, as are non-creature spells, although I'm pretty sure sorin is here to stay as a 3-of.
Hope people are up to working on this deck with me and look forward to hearing any thoughts!
