Off the top of my head:
Candy Crush... er, I mean "Candy Crush", for the ultimate troll - getting paid for annoying ads that made people leave in droves
CloudFlare for randomly jettisoning any random person its settings didn't like, as well as making it impossible for like 10% of the userbase to browse from work
Curse for the early forced transition

God there's so many more, though, I'll give this some work.

Ohohoh. What do I win if I win? :D

Besides. Nothing I've ever done comes even close to being as bad as the mtgs candy-crush-sage saga, which is still ongoing.

I nominate the malicious attack on Magecraft and on their 100+ supporters of MTGS
Malicious attacks on websites
(23:23:41) Yomako01: Hi there, It's Yomako
(23:25:58) Yomako01: I am sorry for this
(23:26:25) GutterNS: Hey
(23:26:42) Yomako01: hey there
(23:26:53) GutterNS: No worries, it is I that should apologise since our site is involved in thiss srt of activities
(23:27:00) GutterNS: sort
(23:27:56) Yomako01: That's okay
(23:28:23) GutterNS: But whoever is pulling this is not getting away with it
(23:28:40) GutterNS: apparentyl more than 60 persons have received threats
(23:28:44) GutterNS: according to Onar
(23:29:06) Yomako01: that is amazing, considering
(23:29:17) GutterNS: So its important that we gather as much material and evidence as we can and forward it to the authorities
(
23:29:39) Yomako01: I have a confession to make
(23:29:50) GutterNS: Onar already sent me the emails your account sent him when you were hacked.
(23:31:03) Yomako01: yup, those were real, I'd send you copies if I had them
(23:31:44) Yomako01: not to infect you, just to prove that
(23:32:10) GutterNS: I have them I'm re-forwaring you the emails so you can have them then, just don't click the link ofc.
(23:32:23) Yomako01: of course
(23:33:00) Yomako01: the account was hacked, but the MTGC email...
(23:34:15) Yomako01: I'm so sorry
(23:34:16) GutterNS: yeah don't feel bad about having deleted it, these things are kept by the ISP for a week or so
(23:34:28) GutterNS: its an honest mistake
(23:34:44) GutterNS: the authorities can just ask for them and then resume their investigations
(23:35:03) Yomako01: have you reported it?
(23:36:13) Yomako01: because there is something you
should know
(23:36:25) GutterNS: Well I though you were in the London area, so I was looking for whoever handled counterterrorism and/or internet crime in the london region, but then Onar alerted me that you are actually in Whales
(23:36:45) Yomako01: please stop the report
(23:36:46) GutterNS: so its best if its handled by someone close to you, maybe they want to ask you questions in person
(23:36:57) GutterNS: what do you mean?
(23:37:59) Yomako01: the MTGC email was not real, it was born from a miscommunication from me to onar
(23:38:10) GutterNS: what?
(23:38:23) GutterNS: a misunderstanding?
(23:38:29) Yomako01: yes
(23:38:58) GutterNS: wait wait wait, explain me this please, this is a very important situation
(23:39:11) Yomako01: please allow me to explain what happened over the last year
(23:39:15) GutterNS: 60 people have been receiveng threats man
(23:39:23) GutterNS: well ok go ahead
(23:
40:03) Yomako01: Onar has been pressuring me hard to join his forums for him
(23:40:24) Yomako01: Do articles, mod etc
(23:41:47) Yomako01: which, I have been trying to think of a way of stopping him, since it was becoming a major scorce of stress and anxiety
(23:42:44) GutterNS: carry on...
(23:43:32) Yomako01: Then this week I looked at MTGC for the first time and was horrified by some of the things I saw
(23:44:01) Yomako01: Sorry, I am very thin skinned
(23:44:23) GutterNS: np our site is not for all ages, so to say...
(23:45:13) Yomako01: And several of my friends were bought into it (Teia etc)
(23:45:36) Yomako01: And the things said shook me to the core
(23:46:24) Yomako01: I know people are entitled to their opinions
(23:46:40) Yomako01: but the impact was huge
(23:47:08) Yomako01: I then noticed Onar's username was there
(23:47:39) Yomako01: So I thought to tell him what I
found
(23:47:48) Yomako01: Sorry
(23:48:33) GutterNS: ok but what does this have to do with the threats towards MTGS members?
(23:48:59) GutterNS: they are somehow real right? because this is unnacceptable
(23:49:11) GutterNS: please tell me this isn't some sort of fabrication
(23:49:29) Yomako01: I know not of any threats
(23:49:54) Yomako01: I never once saw or made reference to threats
(23:49:57) GutterNS: Because I'm taking this very seriously. I have barely slept since yesterday, when I came back from my easter vacations and I was informed of all this by Onar
(23:50:49) Yomako01: I apologise, but I do not know where the threats are coming from
(23:51:08) Yomako01: I have not revived any threats
(23:51:20) Yomako01: *recieved
(23:51:30) GutterNS: :frowns:
(23:51:50) Yomako01: From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry
(23:52:00) GutterNS: you guys from MTGS never stop being a
disappointment for myself
(23:52:19) Yomako01: I know, I really do
(23:52:21) GutterNS: Do you realise how much this issue has bothered me since yesteerday?
(23:52:37) Yomako01: I do now
(23:52:49) GutterNS: Put yourself in my shoes
(23:53:18) Yomako01: I know, you came back from vacation to find what you found
(23:53:59) Yomako01: After no rest, I can understand entirely
(23:54:04) GutterNS: Imagine you wanted to make a site for you and your friends to hang out in peace, you leave for a few days on easster vacations, away from the internet, and you come back to learn that "apparently" your site is being used as a platform for tterrorist threats
(23:54:39) Yomako01: I know, Scumbag, I know
(23:55:34) GutterNS: You really should think for a minute about the consequences of your acts
(23:56:12) GutterNS: how hard was it to tell Onar that because of school or something you couldn't take up responsabilities on his
site?
(23:56:30) GutterNS: instead of... this...
(23:56:54) Yomako01: I know, I wanted to tell him, but I was scared
(23:57:18) Yomako01: remember this has been going on for some time
(23:57:53) Yomako01: (I suffer from Anxiety problems which I am medicated for)
(23:59:24) Yomako01: I couldn't bring myself to do so because I feared for both his wrath and feelings
(00:00:01) GutterNS: Yes, but your actions were hurtful of him too come to think of it
(00:00:32) Yomako01: I know, ironically, I wanted to help
(00:00:39) GutterNS: I think you owe him an apology too, he even resigned over the technicial position he fought so hard for at MTGC
(00:00:55) GutterNS: :sigh:
(00:01:13) Yomako01: I know, I will give it tommorrow.
(00:02:00) Yomako01: Scumbag, I am sorry for all the trouble I have caused
(00:02:15) GutterNS: I'm going to give you an advice: You need to reevaluate the way you handle with
the expectations of others
(00:02:42) Yomako01: I know, but Scumbag, how?
(00:02:48) GutterNS: You should not be afraid of simply telling NO to people
(00:03:10) Yomako01: That is what I need to do
(00:03:11) GutterNS: Mmost people are used to rejection
(00:03:24) GutterNS: And you cannot please everyone
(00:03:55) Yomako01: On more than one occasion, I cried over all the pressure
(00:05:12) Yomako01: *extends my hand*
(00:05:39) GutterNS: allright allright
(00:05:46) GutterNS: lets do this
(00:06:06) Yomako01: handshake?
(00:06:06) GutterNS: We all make mistakes
(00:06:33) GutterNS: sure, I'm willing to forgive you over all this anxiety I had over this
(00:06:53) GutterNS: but you really need to make amends man
(00:07:19) GutterNS: It's important that we take responsability for our acts
(00:07:24) GutterNS: do you agree?
(00:07:28) Yomako01: yes, I do.
(00:
07:38) Yomako01: Yes, I agree
(00:08:16) Yomako01: Tommorrow I will apologise to Onar
(00:08:57) Yomako01: And I will tell him that I cannot help him
(00:09:07) GutterNS: I think the good course of action is for you to issue a public apology to Onar, and to all those who were affected by this ordeal
(00:09:26) Yomako01: Yes
(00:09:34) GutterNS: and then you will resign over your staff position on magecraft
(00:09:51) Yomako01: That is absolutely fine
(00:09:59) GutterNS: you need to have some assertivity if you want to move forward with your future
(00:10:16) GutterNS: to avoid drama, its better you do it on magecraft instead of MTGC
(00:10:27) Yomako01: Yes
(00:10:34) GutterNS: since you don't feel at ease there (understandable)
(00:10:42) GutterNS: do you agree to this?
(00:10:50) Yomako01: yup, I agree
(00:11:04) GutterNS: It's not only for us and Onar, but also for you
n(00:11:39) GutterNS: you need to be in control of your life, not taking detours for avoiding doing things you don't want to do
(00:12:02) Yomako01: I need to put right the wrongs I have caused and prevent them from happening by being more assertive
(00:13:09) Yomako01: I am sorry for all the trouble I caused you
(00:13:30) GutterNS: Allright, as long as the lesson i learned, we are cool
(00:13:37) GutterNS: is learned
(00:14:26) Yomako01: yup, and one more thing, can you keep the IM contents privately?
(00:14:42) GutterNS: yes of course
(00:15:06) Yomako01: Thank you
(00:15:34) Yomako01: I apologise for all the I'll feeling MTGS has caused
(00:17:19) GutterNS: eh, I'm starting to get used to it unfortunately
(00:18:06) Yomako01: Sorry, If it is of any comfort, I do not represent them
(00:20:30) GutterNS: OK, let bygones be bygones
(00:20:46) GutterNS: I'm going to have to go
now
(00:20:56) GutterNS: Got to get up early tomorrow
(00:20:56) Yomako01: Scumbag, thank you for helping
(00:21:09) Yomako01: goodnight :)
(00:21:15) Yomako01: me too
(00:21:30) GutterNS: np, thanks for coming out clean. Be more assertive in the fure ok?
(00:22:04) Yomako01: I will, I promise
(00:23:24) GutterNS: see ya

I nominate the first raid on the speakeasy: 9 May 2013 Synopsis: kpaca was posting in Psi speakeasy's thread and Psi cried to the speakeasy staff (T&T) so they contacted kpaca telling him to stop posting there because it was a private circlejerk. kpaca then asked if they would be allowed to make their own circlejerk too and Talore said" yeah go ahead" so people made the "mini-Gutter thread" in the speakeasy where it was stated that only people who sent an application pic would be eligible for posting. Kijin and kpaca followed discussing how Kijin was going "transatlantic" and how this was a lengthy and difficult process, as a jape to Psi's thread. The thread lasted less than 15min and was shut down with no explanations. So people made the thread for non-sequiturs in response and suddenly a notorious banned member and
internet scumbag posted an application pic in disguise. This caused a lot of distress and widespread panic among iridium, who decided to temporarily shut down registration to put an end to the vicious raid (confirmed by several of our members trying without success to register worldwide). This was a random situation that escalated due to the stupidity of iridium, since people were just humorously arguing the attitude of iridium, but then, purely as a jape I posted here in DtR's blathering threads that "the raid had been successful" so Teia who regularly scans the threads at DtR in search of internet terrorism posted in the mod lounge that these had been a "premeditated and coordinated raid". Once we started making fun of this in view of our leaks staff freaked out immediately and thought we were some kind of psychics/internet nefarious masterminds. Kijin coined the term "iridium" to refer to "M_TGS Staff" at the outset of this exact episode. There was extensive
mod lounge talk about banning kpaca and Kijin for yet again not breaking a single rule of the forums, but in the end, in their infinite leniency, iridium decided to just suspend them (again).
Condoms, I need you to stop posting in Hikari's thread of whatever. Your posting in there is making her feel uncomfortable. This is a formal mod request.
Wait, so just because we create a thread in the speakeasy means we can decide who gets to post there? Other posters in this thread are thanking my posts. This isnt clans or extendos, this is the speakeasy. This is ridiculous and surely not protocol.
Some tSpy threads have evolved to pretty much be extendos or clans. It is less formal but if someone intrudes in a user's thread and is unwelcome we will ask them to not post in that thread.
Not the first time we've done that.

I just looked at my
old mtgs profile. i had 20 friends but now i have 19.

Turns out that Talore, in a move of unprecedented nerdrage, unfriended my banned account!
"I am so internet mad at CK that I am unfriending his banned account on this site!"
lol, I think they temporarily disabled registration, I'm trying to register Alexei Leonov from Germany, france, seattle, and the site is telling me to try back latter.

These guys are a riot.
Can someone confirm this? its as
easy as logging out from mtgs, clicking on registering today and putting whatever mailadress you want (doesn't have to be real). does it tells you that your request couldn't be processed? or does it say it sent an email?
Your request could not be processed. Please try again later or with a different email address. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If the problem persists, please contact us at [email protected].
they're acting like today's THE FINAL BATTLE when it's just a minor raid

Galspanic: kpaca has contacted me (of course ) and wants me to look at it. I've noticed a pattern lately with him and I am looking at that first with him, but I do want to know why it wasn't just infracted? It looks like you guys are "because Speakeasy" on it. That's fine, but I just want to make sure I understand why it's not being ticketed. Thanks!

EDIT: Just saw ER's post about how he'll be handling it.

Talore: It isn't just 'because Speakeasy.' We have social spaces here that are similar to extendo threads or clans. If someone is being disruptive in one of these social spaces and is unwelcome, we'll ask that person to not post in that thread, rather than having to wait until they do something that is clearly infractable. Funny kpaca brings that up, because that incident with Harkius was an instance where we asked Harkius to stop posting in that thread because he was disruptive to the group of friends, including kpaca.

His summary of the situation is insulting and dramatic. He has been asked to not post in a SINGLE thread, because the person who effectively 'owns' that thread has a long, bad history with kpaca and kpaca being in there (and subtly trolling over her being a trans woman) made her feel so uncomfortable that she would not post as long as he was in there.

And yeah, I would appreciate if ExpiredRascals handled this as he is familiar with how tSpy runs and is also familiar with the context of this situation and of the history between Hikari and Condoms.

Galspanic: Okay, so just for my own clarification.... he did not do anything infractable? I was under the impression that he did, but you wanted to avoid moderation because it's how the speakeasy works (my use of "because Speakeasy.").

Talore: Well what he was doing was trolling, but it is hard to prove. Misgendering Hikari, bringing up the trans issue she didn't want brought up, his past troubles with Hikari, etc. So if he can't post
in there, the problem is solved anyways.

Talore: Oh look, we've been raided. And Hikari wants her thread retired. I seriously can't handle this. Why do those assholes have to ruin everything?

Talore: They're all making fun of Hikari now for being a trans woman by parodying it with 'trans-atlantic'

Talore: I closed the thread, that cannot continue at the very least. I can't wait for anyone on that at least. Now watch them flood elsewhere...

EDIT: I retired Hikari's thread also because she did request for that to happen, and I didn't want the gutter posters to just try and troll her thread next.

Weebo: I'd say hitting Kijin and Condoms/kpaca for trolling is the bare minimum here. I'm not sure what other action we should be taking, because this is pretty hostile (if backhanded).

Talore: Gaea's Regent as well, for and for playing into their troll with the other post about Portugal.

IMO they should all be suspended with kijin and Condoms re-banned. That's the optimal scenario.

nTeia Rabishu: http://community.ist.utl.pt/viewtopic.p ... 906#p60906

This was a coordinated, premeditated raid.

Rai Kerensky: Sorry for butting in...but are we going to remove the gutter members from this forum? It is obvious they are not interested in bettering this forum, but rather having fun at our and other MtGS user's expense.

ExpiredRascals: @Rai: There is a GL discussion on the response. I'll also be getting involved as soon as I'm able (should be ~hour and a half)
So even after the vicious raid on the speakeasy Talore still hasn't blocked me on aim :iiam:
He might unfriend your banned account though
ok so galspanic sent me a PM on mtgs saying the specific use of the word raid -- and not the verbatum summary of the dialog in the mod lounge -- as a reason why people on staff are having a shit fit after i asked him why the fuck people are having a shit fit. so i just said n_s told me. ^_^
