They told me I could be anything I wanted, so I became an Enchantment.

Hmm.

Turn 1 guyzor.
Turn 2 ramp (better if you're using a permanent to ramp with).
Turn 3 that new phoenix, hope they make a 5/5
Turn 4 swing for 10 in the air
Turn 5 pretty much any G/R permanent, swing for at least 16, extend hand?
Admittedly a little on the side of Magical Christmas Land, but a boy can dream.

On another note, do you suppose someone from the art department had an off-the-record talk with Jason Chan about the need to imply as many phalluses into the picture as possible, or do you suppose Mr. Chan just figured it out on his own?

Really cool for EDH abuse. Standard competitive play....not sure. It is the best of the bunch so far.

We are living in a 5cc green world, because I am a 5cc green card.

What is the critical mass of 5cc green creatures a deck can play before you simply cannot add more? This is probably better than at least one monstrous card in that deck, but so many of those play important roles that it's hard to just say cut one and boom Xenagos.

I proxied it, added 3 to the GR beasts list posted by kibler (star city premium) - and with 4 Fanatic of Xenagos. The god does work against control and mid range, and against agro, well your planeswalkers do most of the work. I really like it

its way too expensive against aggro where it doesn't stabilize you but other than that i agree he does work against control/midrange stuffs.

Also really fuckin helps against the desecration demon problem

I mentioned this to a friend offline but the toughness boost is so good, turning the dreaded late top-decked BTE into a 4/4 that Mutavault can suicide in front of.

I dont play it in a devotion deck, i am over decks like GR devotion where your threat density is pretty low, and a single thoughtseize can throw you off completely. This is my starting list i have been using to get a feel

[deck]4 elvish mystic
3 sylvan caryatid
4 Fanatic of Xenagos
3 Polukranos
4 ghor-clan rampager
4 stormbreath dragon
3 Xenagos, God of Revels

Planeswalkers (8)
2 Chandra Pyromaster
3 Domri Rade
3 Xenagos the Reveler

Sorceries (3)
3 Mizzium Mortars

Land (24)
4 Stomping Grounds
4 Temple of Abandon
3 Mutavault
8 Forest
5 Mountains
[/deck]

xenagos is just an end game creature. I was playing against WWb without problems (made him rage a bit actually). Boros reckoner still gives GR headaches, but a few lightning bolts in the side generally keeps that pretty clear. The tramplers are amazing.

Just a quick edit - xenagos isnt just an end game creature. What i meant to type is that he
is the creature that ends the game. You throw him down, and he affects the board that turn, turning your previously not scary 4/4 into an 8/8. There is also nothing better than beating your control opponent with a 4/4 mutavault the turn after they have wrathed. While i have only been testing against decks that are standard legal (mono black, mono u, wwb, as well as a few vs RW devotion and american control), the only deck that gave it any trouble was RW devotion. Other than that, it was gravy. Yes i am on the hypetrain, but i pre-ordered 2 gods at $20.

The god tends to feel like another planeswalker, one that each turn gets to do 1 thing. It really feels like having a heap of hard to deal with permanents. I am a fan - really like the way the deck feels
