My Sygg deck has an average CMC of 5. So yeah...that's not very durdly.

Average CMC is also a pretty bad measure of durdliness. Case in point: Any Salvaging Station deck ever.

Well, it's a blue white deck that can kill people on turn 4 sometimes and plays no countermagic. The point is just because EDH players build durdly decks doesn't mean that you have to.
