$75 is too much for an event deck, don't need to see its contents.

It'll be the Arid Mesa, too.

I'm guessing two Scalding Tarn, one Cascade Bluffs, and some Terramorphic Expanses.

Affinity deck without mox opals. Cheapest thing for them to print.

I don't believe there has been any mythical in events decks? If so, can't be anything that great in the deck. Will they kick out new modern master reprints not in the original MM? Will it have standard cards? $75 seems rather high and shops will ask $100

Shops will likely ask more than $100, and actually it is just as cheap for them to print 75 copies of Squire as it is for them to print 75 copies of Tarmogoyf

I bet they throw in Bitterblossum just to get people arguing why it should be in the deck. Let's say the put these cards in the deck:
[cards]Bitterblossom
Path to Exile
Marsh Flats
Elspeth, Knight-Errant
Godless Shrine
Fetid Heath
Thoughtseize[/cards]
Now we know they won't make the full version with 4 copies, thus what filler will they use? Also, BW Tokens has not been doing much lately. Why print a deck that may be falling out of favor? I think they might be reconsidering the deck now. My opinion could be real wrong as Wizards tends to let us down.

Yeah, not even a single Marsh Flats or Godless Shrine. It's a joke, good luck selling those for $75.

It's not bad for someone trying to get into Modern and the value is somewhat there. All the cards add up to $100+ on TCG.

I can see them sitting on shelves for a long time though. Most people looking to buy the event deck are Modern players that already have a majority of the cards listed.

For those it's decent value, and that should be the target consumer for event decks. Problem is that everybody is getting a bit fed up with the cost of Modern staples, and was hoping to get at least something useful to drive down prices a bit. Oh well, perhaps those Inquisitions and Paths go down a bit...

Talk about a disappointment. Damn.

I find that the event deck sucks if you have some modern cards. It's not worth the investment in my opinion. No Bitterblossom is weird and the lack of Fetches or Shocks is pathetic. For getting more Modern players and helping increase the pool of available modern cards; Wizards is pissing in the wind and its hitting us in the face. The should have posted at least 2 different Event decks to get more interest.

This is just lame.

It falls far below expectations, but as someone with zero modern cards, this would be a great investment if I could get it for under 100 bucks. It's a manabase and 6/8 maindeck swaps from something I'd feel reasonably confidant with at local modern tournies.

I think the target audience is people who don't play much modern, though. It is an okay deck for breaking in; a few staples, an okay list, decent price point.

The people who were most excited about this were people who wanted to buy them for the cheap staples that could have been reprinted and made purchasing the deck at MSRP insane value. For people who weren't looking to cash in or capitalize upon reprints of highly-sought-after-cards this is a fine list.

Oh
I totally agree. It's meant for those who are new to modern who want to get in without paying an arm and a leg. People are just salty because they thought it was going to be a cash grab they can make money off of.
