Surprise, a red creature I don't like that I'm pretty sure everyone who isn't me is going to like and a card someone is trying to sell me as a Commander card.

I really hate everything about the Satyr. I won't be shocked (pun?) if it sees play, but its pretty lame.

Satyr will see play because it doesn't get embarrassed by the new hexproof 0/3 mana dork but rather runs it over or gets in free T2. It will get sided out on the draw and in the mirror most likely, but a 2-power one-drop with firebreathing fits the red aggro plan, drawback or no. Having said that, the new red sweeper makes one have to reflect on the planning of aggro strategies in general in terms of design.

It's really disappointing that the Firebreathing part of the Satyr also damages you.

It's good enough to see play but I agree the fire-breathing didn't need to burn you.

i don't think 2-mana BoP is where you want to be in a world of 2-mana 3/3s and 3-mana 4/4s

hexproof plant is very good. Walling x/2s actually saves you a lot of life vs. aggressive decks, and it takes you from 2 to 4 which can be very significant.

As far as the satyr goes, I don't like how the firebreathing pings you, but I think the card is very playable and should create some interesting games.

Triad of fates on the other hand is a very interesting limited. Card. It's like a pseudo bomb that you have to work really hard for but can be very rewarding.

doesn't red have more good 1-drops than its had since goblin guide and aren't creatures at 2cc+ larger than they've been since watchwolf? i feel like a 1-drop that gives your opponents a free attack against you and then some just to trade isn't very well positioned right now, at least not when you have other options that don't do that or can do so more explosively (the denizen, for example).

going to 4 is the reason to play the dryad, but because it blocks red creatures in a deck that has played dynacharge or against 3/3 and bigger creatures on turns 3 forward is not. owen turtenwald made a good case for it in a recent article on scg but i'm not entirely sure that that pile of cards is anything more. but it's a cool idea and will presell some xanathos.
