That's essentially what PSully said in his deck tech about the Threatens as well, James. My question though was whether the trample of Traitorous might be more often relevant than the +1 counter of Mark. I recognize that the casting color cost is still a concern worth considering, but that aside, what are your thoughts?
BTW, here's the sideboard from the other midrange red deck--totally different:
[deck]
Sideboard
4 Ratchet Bomb
3 Possibility Storm
3 Shock
2 Mizzium Mortars
3 Rolling Temblor
[/deck]
Some of the cards make more sense than the other sideboard list, but
Possibility Storm?
Right, now I remember. That was meant to be Anti-control. I guess it could fuck with them.
Is there a
way to check how much this deck would cost on MODO?
Could
Young Pyromancer fit in this deck?
Also, as much as I dislike the new Chandra, does she have a place here?

A resolved possibility storm completely destroys UWx Control. Think about it. Shuts down Sphinx's Rev, wrecks most of their other spells (turning removal into counterspells for example). It is very powerful, but something you have to see to understand I guess.
I have always held that Mark v Traitorous is personal preference, though I have usually sided with Traitorous myself ~ mostly because of lingering souls and moorland haunt been in the format.

I'm not sure how much sense hellrider makes in this list.

Its a 4/3 haste for 4. Sometimes a 5/3. That is still a solid card. You're trying to aggressively 1-for-1 your opponent; but you're playing more land than another aggro deck, so your attackers need to be worth more than a card to retain parity or get ahead (although having 4 Mutavault helps). Hellrider is worth a lot more than a card when attacking.

So been working on a fun/janky deck - I have an unhealthy love of beating netdeckers with off-the-wall things...it's a problem I know.
Anyway, I posted the deck here (
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthre ... 507&page=3 ) and would love some actual feedback on it. The peeps over there apparently have no feedback to give. That's likely what I'll be playing at FNM this week, because who doesn't like trolling FNM with Enchantment.dec ... Very open to trying other stuff if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks

I'm being dense here, James...how does it shut down SRev? If they cast SRev from their hand then it triggers the enchantment, but isn't the SRev already good? Am I understanding the effect wrong?

The Rev gets exiled by the enchantment before it can resolve.

"Whenever a player casts a spell from his or her hand, that player exiles it, then exiles cards from the top of his or her library until he or she exiles a card that shares a card type with it. That player may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Then he or she puts all cards exiled with Possibility Storm on the bottom of his or her library in a random order."
I guess that SRev won't resolve.
Also, if they actually stumb upon a SRev while searching for a spell, they would be able to cast it for free - that would mean that they would draw 0 and gain 0 life.

Probably. Possibility Storm exiles the card when you cast it, and then you search for a card which you can cast instead. So it doesn't resolve at all, and you can't control what you get instead. Great thinking outside the box putting that card in the sideboard, in my opinion.
Edit: Damn you're fast...

Know what's pretty broken? Possibility Storm with Riku. I get my copy of a spell plus a random spell, you can't cast the spells you want.

AH! I didn't get that the exile of the original card took place before it resolved! So IOW the enchantment says that you whenever you cast something, you get the next thing of the same type that shows up in your deck and then everything goes to the bottom of your library. Correct?

I put my report from the weekend up if anyone wants to share my frustrations.
Who's going to step up and write the big red primer?

It's additional insurance against not drawing a Burning Earth. A soft lock vs control. It would also serve to protect your Burning Earth since they couldn't easily destroy it.
Possibility Storm would be interesting with Young Pyromancer. You would get two activations since he triggers on casting, not resolving.

I was about to post this!
While we're talking about Possibility Storm, Strionic Resonaaator? I want to play a deck that abuses the tuning fork so badly.

Buying into a MTGO account and building a Modern deck now, all thanks to Alex.
I apologize in advance, Fate.
Pfft, you're keeping his #1 Ho inside doing mental math on the cheap instead of on the street, turning tricks for more paper mutavaults.

I'd much rather have volley then flames. You already have bonfire doing what you want flames to do and volley helps you actually kill people. In this format, it's important for your midrange deck to be able to "turn the corner" quickly and volley combined with hellrider's often suicidal charges does that well. That and it gives you a way to kill x/5 creatures if ever that's important.
With all the quality removal running around and this deck not having creatures that generate value outside of haste(tempo being a sort of "value" of you feel like stretching definitions), I greatly appreciate the ability to chuck damage at some noobs. This deck has REAL reach.
I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say unless your playing the ALL IN red
decks, you should probably stay away from the low curve red decks and play something more agro-midrange instead. I'm strongly considering shelving the stromkirk nobles for good and kissing that sweet prince goodnight. This does not look like his format.
I'm not sure that I want to believe that your last paragraph is correct. It seems like you're saying that kdw is invalid. Do you think that? If not, how would you build it?

You obviously don't understand because you ain't as skreet as me. Also, Nuwen, the correct term for #1 Ho is "bottom bitch" and you should probably refer to Fate as "daddy" on the forums from now on.
It's good that Nuwen's a member now. I can already feel myself respecting women more.

Keeping the Rakis list on the down low is good though. Let control THINK their sweepers will cover all aggro in the format,
then we will strike swift and recursively.

Sweeper? That's cool, I'll make Aristocrat indestructable. My turn - play Jester, activate Mutavault,
swing 9.
Speaking of which, I'm going to miss Aristocrat.

The first time it was printed it was broke with all the tribal lords and such - try playing it in a fish deck with easily 2+ lords on the table.
Now it's been downgraded to just amazing.

It's been really strong, but I'm still not sure we've found the right shell for it. When is M14 legal on modo?

Been legal since Friday apparently. Someone played Mutavault on me in a 2-man.

My personal favorite is T5 tapping mutavault to activate itself, saccing it to Aristocrat, morbid Brimstone volley (-10 you, bro).
Who should I harass about getting added to the FoS MTGO clan?
