Already met the parents a while back, so that is some hassle already dealt with.

Meeting the parents before the relationship is official is always the best course of action. Less "who the fuck are you dating?" and more "oh, I know him, he's an alright guy."

Unless you're a prick.

4-4-1 at the PTQ. Manascrew and mulls to 4 all day. I hate this standard.

Anyone else looking forward to M14 / hoping it really shakes things up?

On a more positive note, got a playset of japanese promo chandra's pheonix for 1050. Pretty happy with that. I really hope RDW is strong / well positioned enough to play at GP: Kitakyushu.

I've rather enjoyed this standard format. Especially now since there are actually new decks cropping up(aristocrats act 3, Naya agro, naya midrange, BUG walkers). Right now, I'm leaning towards switching to some form of Naya Midrange. Being aggressive but bigger then the current agro decks seems very appealing in this format.

They reprinted kiki and Pestermite, but not Splinter Twin? Bizarre. Must be to balance limited or something.

@zeman - congrats on becoming officially official, good sir. Your smile speaks volumes!

@ AGoT posters - get ye to your thread before you oops with the spoilers...I just set Season 2 to download so I can get caught up next week. :D

I was just reading through Chapin's analysis of the as of now over on SCG and my brain is bending...the diversity and interactions driving the meta changes are creating some complex synergies. For example, he describes how the simultaneous decline in control (weak to Voice) and the decreased presence of Junk Reanimator (and reactive GY hate) has opened a window for Zombies to scramble up. I'd really love to see him take the article another few steps deeper...I don't love everything he writes, but the article is a decent encapsulation.

The takeaway is that Voice is the real deal and is becoming the new primary
fulcrum point for aggro simply because it allows the play of many cards that aren't viable in a BTE-centric deck.

My Facebook feed this morning is full of people in shock about last night's Game of Thrones episode. No spoilers!

My lady came over last night to watch it, but naturally we didn't even make it past the intro.

We're going to give it a second try tonight. Not sure if I actually want to watch it now...

Need suggestions. Would you remove the Dynacharges against the aggro mirror on the draw? I removed it and would like to know your reasoning if you think otherwise.

What did you bring in instead? Frostburn?

The list is likely larger on the attack than the mirror, and without many blockers. The mirror really is a race, though. I think it depends on what you mean by "mirror" - Rakdos with the same cards or just another aggro?
