I want to buy an investment property but my wife doesn't. How can I convince her she's wrong?

EDIT: It's a fucking good investment:
- 4 blocks of land
- one with a house on it
- another one big enough to subdivide
- on the side of a hill with views of the whole town

You gonna rent it out or move in there?

Rent it. Maybe hang on to the highest block and build on it in the long run.

Well, if the money angle ain't workin', you can always try the "it'll be a place for some nice people to live, ain't helping anybody right now" angle.

GOT BEEF?

GOT BEEF?

GO TO A BUTCHER
Why would you go to a Butcher? Presumably, the butcher has enough beef already. Why would he want yours?

Ostensibly, to take care of yours.

Majestic 12
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about the purported secret committee called 'Majestic 12'. For other uses, see Majestic 12 (disambiguation).

Majestic 12 (or MJ-12) is the supposed code name of an alleged secret committee of scientists, military leaders, and government officials, formed in 1947 by an executive order by U.S. President Harry S. Truman. The purpose of the committee would be to investigate the recovery of a UFO north of Roswell, New Mexico during July 1947.
Initial indications of such a group's existence appeared in 1978 in declassified Canadian documents. Another reference to a classified group called "MJ-12" was discovered in 1980, but was later claimed to be a hoax. In 1984 a set of documents were discovered in United States archives, which closely
resemble real declassified documents, but which the FBI have declared to be "completely bogus".[1]
UFO conspiracy theories sometimes incorporate Majestic 12.

Perhaps they get enough humor reading this thread. Our comic genius just makes every other joke seem like crap by comparison.

Majestic 12 bot means shit is now officially real. The Dragon is in league with aliens and clandestine government agencies. diestoremoval will soon be a no-smoking forum. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs. No women - unless of course you're married. No guns, no foul language... no red meat.

Philosophical question: with the rise of tablet computing, does "afk" become an obsolete term since there isn't a keyboard to be away from?

Posted: Sat Mar 30, 2013 6:25 pm
by Tom Servo
Now you just have to buy a keyboard to be away from that attaches to your tablet. Although I wouldn't be surprised if some younger generation starts using afk as away from komputer

I just noticed it took Sene 18 hours to infract mastergee's post on E_R's helpdesk (the one where he called teia "he".) Despite the heavy mod/global/admin activity in those 18 hours, nobody picked up on this bit of trolling - which was apparently so unacceptably hurtful that it deserved a suspension - for nearly a day. It's almost like they went back over the thread with a fine-tooth comb looking for things to infract (but obviously that's crazy talk because the staff are way too busy to do stuff like that.)
Rumor has it that this suspension stuck because mastergee apparently doesn't
make typos often.

Rumor also has it that in light of all the inappropriate language talk, that he reported a post by a user who was taking cracks at homosexuals before he got carded for pretty much the same thing he reported. The reported post was never moderated, and the appeal I'm told has been denied.
