smileys are still awful in dark skin, if only someone took the time to update the transparencies for every single one of them...

I'm sure many would love to help but-

I wouldn't mind helping, but it wouldn't really be possible. Animated gifs and transparencies have this inherent problem.

They can be made transparent as long as they're saved as .gif or .png, I'm fairly certain. I'm pretty sure I can do that with the magic eraser. Let me try a few.

just checked, some smiley's have problems, others not, and its independent on whether they are animated or not

Ah I see. The non-animated ones can be fixed easily. The animated ones might have issues due to saving as gifs.
