Also, I would not spend money on Evolutionary Leap past the first playset, but I would trade for them at their current (Low on TCGPlayer) value.

I'm in the mood for some sweet spoiler discussions and card the cards rumors. Let's go to the #1 place for the goods.
They manage to be even shittier than this site.

Playing Xenagos as my commander, and seeing all those red and green cards, it makes me think of Christmas. Xenagos is Santa, and every turn he gives one lucky boy or girl (or wurm, or dragon, or beast, or plant, ect) a present. Burnished hart is his reindeer, helvault his bag of presents, gruul warplow his sleigh, and elvish abomination is his elf. I guess that makes nylea Mrs. Claus. (This ramble brought to you by some pretty dank shit)

So abbot of keral keep, a great red card from origins or the best red card from origins?
And is anyone else dealing with the urge to curve into avaricious dragon in standard? Last year curving into fanatic of mogis got me a lot of packs.

Chapin seems to think it's the best card in the set, period.

I meant they should have called Chandra's place something that doesn't sound so similar, not that they should have called it Kher Keep

They do sound similar, but it's not like they just recently made up the name given that it was referenced 4-5 years ago.

Card's actually insane. Trying to get some foil Abbot's now since I'll probably be playing them all format long.
Tested Avaricious Dragon, and it seems pretty meh.

Anyway to improve the mobile viewing for this site? Can't see thread names that have recently been posted in unless I click all the way through to them...

Also, it seems that you can't switch to the blue prosilver skin once you're logged in, but it's the default when you're not logged in yet. The red color is so ugly

That feeling when you order Hangarback Walkers and then your preorders come in and you realize you'd already preordered them.

Yes that's why it sucks that I bought them when I'd already preordered them. Because they cost more now than they did when Past Cole thought hey maybe this inexpensive creature that enables Affinity and is a combo with Ravager and the rest of the deck has something going for it.

I usually just buy the commons and uncommons that are playable from my LGS and wait on the rares to drop a little before buying unless I think they are appropriately priced. I bought Pia and Kiran Nalaar and Abbot for that reason.

Most of what I bought that is garbage are either commons/uncommons or stuff that was probably garbage when I bought it but I figured I'd roll the dice.
The only thing you should absolutely stay away from if you don't need them immediately are the planeswalkers.

I find that the first couple of weeks is fantastic for speculating on commander cards. I made a good turn on my chromatic orbs (wish I would have kept one or two, and I even meant to, but I traded them all away accidentally).

Financially, sounds like the thing to do. The thing I've always worried about is what happens if they decide
to scrap the whole system and come out with something "the same but new". If they stop supporting it
in lieu of a new program are people supposed to be able to recoup digital cash? I mean I've always wondered is wotc somehow priced into keeping MTGO going or can they just shut the system down at anytime and be like *shrug* if it tanks.
I played very little on there and I just never got into how it worked in the longterm.

Question for you lot:
During online pre-releases cards are always worth more then they should - how much is too much to pay for Exquisite Firecraft?
P.S. In regards with the market, I actually except all future cards to inflate in price since the supply will be much lower (nothing really changed for inf. grinders, its just slightly more punishing).

Any price is too much to pay right now IMO. Given the popularity of red decks online, I expect it to eventually settle in at 2.5-3 tix.
Your theory on card prices increasing long term is sound. I expect the same assuming they don't change anything between now and the introduction of play points.
