Atarka Efreet isn't at such an alarmingly high power level where a different, in-color morph creature was worth committing to RG P1P2 when I could stay mono-G P1P2 and stay open to other possibilities.

When will this focus on Modern content end.
As soon as they finally talk you into playing it and you buy enough staples, then it'll stop, then we go all in on rainbow staircase as a nostalgia kick.

I'd play modern if the prices were even just a bit lower and also they did something to shake up the format once every few months. Maybe some new cards enter the format, and some old ones leave? That sounds pretty fun. Maybe they can make a format like that.
They banned pod recently, you know?

Hey, assholes.
I kid, I kid. Unless I stopped coming here because we had a falling out that I don't remember. I think I just got super busy. If we had a falling out, then feel free to cuss me up and down. I'm a big boy. I can handle it. I might cry a bit, and might need therapy, but I can handle it.

Wait. I've been too busy to miss anything, and I get plenty of abuse in real life.

The names are generic, nothing ties them to Theros. Compare with the lands from Scars of Mirrodin, which don't have generic names.

Where would this spell be in terms of playability?
PIERCING BOLT 1R
Sorcery
this deals 2 damage to target player and it's controller

Pretty low since that basically reads 1R - Sorcery - Shock.
Assuming you meant to make it like Searing Blaze, still pretty low since it is 2 damage and at sorcery speed. Only requiring one red doesn't help it much. Searing Blood and Draconic Roar only see marginal play right now.

I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering, I went to Cal Poly SLO. I passed my Professional Engineer license exam last year, so I think it's just swimming in piles of money from now on.

Interesting. I got my B.S. in Econ, but I'm about to start my MStat in Econometrics. Things like the hypergeometric distribution post you made and such just made me figure you had done something along those lines, but given what the engineering students I've been in classes with (I had to take Calc 1-3 as pre-reqs for my masters...Calculus for Economists didn't cut it, tons of various engineering majors in those calc classes,) I shouldn't be surprised.

That sounds like my experience as well. We took so many math courses that many of us could have gotten a math minor with another quarter or two of coursework. I was already behind schedule at that point so I elected to GTFO and get a job instead
