The whole Sidisi -> Bloodsoaked champion interaction strikes me as very, very slow - it's certainly slower than chucking Bloodsoaked Champion at their face with Tymaret, and that's already been proven too slow against certain decks.

But that's just one card (and a whole article paragraph???)

He's right about Pitiless horde. That card is performing very, very well in tests.

http://deckstats.net/deck-6318557-74b3c ... 0f762.html

this is what I'm on currently btw. sb is jank from testing.

[deck]d00ds (29):
4 Mogis's Marauder
4 Tormented Hero
4 Bloodsoaked Champion
3 Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
4 Mardu Scout
4 Blood-Chin Rager
4 Battle Brawler
2 Pitiless Horde

spells (8):
4 Lightning Strike
4 Stoke the Flames

mana (22):
4 Temple of Malice
4 Bloodstained Mire
5 Mountain
7 Swamp
2 Mana Confluence

tech (1):
1 Obelisk of Urd

SB: 1 Underworld Cerberus
SB: 1 Chandra, Pyromaster
SB: 4 Roast
SB: 3 Self-Inflicted Wound
SB: 1 Dragonlord Kolaghan
SB: 2 Ultimate Price
SB: 2 Duress
SB: 2 Tymaret, the Murder King
[/deck]

tbh, ever since we capped article length and focused the message more, we've gotten about 3-4x as many hits on our articles. turns out all those filthy LoL players had it right.

I should probably be playing +4 of some other fetch color to thin the swamps in my deck.

I have my doubts about Battle Brawler with only 7 ways to turn it on. That also seems like a crap-ton of red sources just for the ability to jam Stoke in this deck.

I think a lot of them make for really poor reads, it's less the length and more lazy way they're being thrown together and presented. Breaking set reviews into 5 card blurbs, lol!

I don't think the article length has anything to do with hits.

I only go to CFB for Magic content and I've definitely been on a steep decline since the quality of the articles dropped

But I'm not playing much Magic either so it's also that

The problem is every time people tells me what 'Good' Magic content they want, it's inevitably shit that doesn't actually draw in readers.

And yes, article length certainly does. You'll have to take my word on that one since I obv can't share any data or feedback that I know about, but both SCG and CFB are effectively on the same page in that regard.

Like I said, I don't mind the shorter articles. I love some of the new pieces like Keep/Mull or p1p1, but I think the QUALITY of some of the people who are just writing paragraphs now is lesser -- I'd expect more quality from a short article, because it's short. I don't believe half of what the guys are pushing now, at least before they could sort of convince me they actually thought X or Y was good so CFB could sell cards and they could play Z the next weekend

Like, people keep choosing Owen as an example because his articles are less enthusiastic, feel forced, look and read lazy, when normally his eccentric personality shines through in his writing

As a reader, I feel like I get way more actual content from SCG right now. That's all there is to it.

If you guys are making more money by doing less work, then more power to you. I just find myself going to CFB less and less.

On a semi-related note, the store is sucking now, too. Frequently more expensive than SCG and always out of stock. Has SCG just put more effort into not being the literal worst or is CFB slipping?
examples would be useful since I could actually check.

Thoughts on this for FNM? Haven't played in quite a while and have no idea of the current top decks and their win plans :-/

[deck]Zero Hour[/deck]

Foundry Street Vs Firedrinker Vs Lightning Beserker

Would play RW but sadly don't have a lot of the gas to make KDW work yet, hence this grindy machine.

Was thinking that they make Denizen and Command better. Maybe -2 Fodder +2 Lightning Berserker?

I'm guessing that this also depends on how people are accessing the online content. If most of them are using their phones, then they would want shorter articles since they would be easier to access and read on smaller screens.

Am I off in thinking that Ire Shaman would fit nicely here? The pseudo-evasion would work nicely with the intimidate granted by Marauder.

I'm interested in hearing how Alesha has been testing for you.
