Why wouldn't they overload on Legacy considering the upcoming GP?
I'm not a super huge fan of SCG or anything, but if it weren't for them, Legacy wouldn't even be a relevant format in the US. The way they've profited off the format has been masterful.

"How much money do you think Tom Ross has made off people playing lands that come into play tapped?"
still makes me laugh
God bless scg casters, sometimes.

Formats with Young Pyromancer > Sealed > being forced to listen to Skrillex > Standard > Draft > death > fake formats like edh

I actually have fun with EDH because it's the only format I can play Legacy cards around here. Sad...

That's unfortunate mate.

Why wouldn't they overload on Legacy considering the upcoming GP?
Because it's boring and redundant. As a paying customer, I don't like that content for the more popular formats is ignored for weeks at a time so SCG can push their overpriced, garbage format to siphon even more money.
You know who pays more than people who bitch about the price of newly reprinted fetchlands, the people who pay for beta underground seas

Hey guys, i'm just coming back around to the magic world and one thing that i see that has made an impact is
Eidolon of the Great Revel in Legacy/Modern Burn/RDW/etc. What exactly changed with this guy's printing? I can understand in Modern we didn't have
Pyrostatic Pillar but it's always been there in Legacy, so why now? Is it because it has legs?
Also, i'm late to the party, congrats zem on that 1st place finish a while ago, that was good back reading and finding out you won.
Always keep coming back to the fires...

Yes.

So the ability itself is not good enough to warrant running pillar alongside? Again, i'm just shooting from the hip not totally knowing what the meta is like right now.

The 2/2 body on board is a huge difference when every spell costs 2 life. Pyrostatic pillar is at best a sideboard card against storm combo, while eidolon is good against almost everything. Just play with him a little bit and you will notice his strength.

But legacy and modern are the same now.
When fetching for an untapped dual costs 3 life as opposed to 1, no, they're not the same. Also real storm. Also my favorite card -
Dark Depths. Also Brainstorm. Also Ponder. Also Force of Will. Also Wasteland.

I bought the Teferi Commander deck to play vs. my buddy's Red Commander deck(idk what the goblins name is) and it was some of the funnest magic I've played in a while. The red walker goblin might be legacy playable because it's REALLY powerful.

So fun playing Daretti. I really love playing that deck. Article next week on how to update it for competitive play.

You should force RB aggro since you're in the FoS!

disclaimer: I'm currently forcing RB aggro in Modern. Those sweet, sweet
Falkenrath Aristocrat beats.

What should I buy online
Mardu Midrange
Temur Aggro
RG Monsters
How good/bad are you at magic?
If you suck, buy RG monsters.
If you don't, pick whatever you like most. I'd go with Temur.

Check out the Mardu Midrange primer if you like. Might help you make a more informed decision.

I've beaten the last three Savage Knuckleblades I have encountered in draft, in unwinnable games, because every opponent taps out with a Knuckleblade in play
