You should fit in some aggro and tempo cards in your pristaxcontrombmodruu deck
I can't afford to make the name of the deck any longer.

Mobilization is crap. Try Sacred Mesa.

@ [card]Mind's Eye[/card]: It's a great mana sink, and a card that can go in any deck, but I have other sources of card advantage and would prefer synergy.

@ Sublime Archangel: I think this is a trap card. You attack with one big, stupid dummie instead of swarming, then it gets removed.

@ Elspeth, Knight-Errant: Only one token a turn, but Emblem is pretty relevant. I don't know. What do other people think?

@ [card]Militia's Pride[/card]: No sure I have enough non-token creatures to make this not a dead card.

@ Mobilization: I have lots of Soldiers and it's cheaper than Heliod. Maybe it should just be Heliod.

@ Sacred Mesa: What am I not getting about this card? You can't play it before T5, if you do play it on 5, there's a very good change of blow out. It ties up two mana a turn to keep it around, but by T7 + is it really that out of hand?

You can play it on turn 3. It costs two mana during your next upkeep, yeah. But look at it and Mobilization. In the end, you get 50% more tokens for your mana.

Also, the tokens fly. That's not insubstantial.

Luminarch Ascension should probably be in there somewhere too.

Luminarch Ascension is a bad card in EDH.

Sure, it's usually active once around the table. It's also a huge fucking target on your face.

I agree with Dechs. That card is too powerful, but not quite powerful enough.

Generals in my playgroup (Granted it consist of about 4-6 people): Oona, 5 Color Walkers (doubling season, usually wins with tutor into omniscience/enter the infinite), Prosph, Narset, Captain Sissay, Derevi, Khalia, Erebos, Zirilen, Hanna, Nin, Animar, Azusa, Krenko, Oloro, Slivers, Skithryx, Ravenous Rats deck.

Pretty diverse group, but pretty clear which decks are the tier 1s of the group.

Hard for me to not be targeted anyway, but I get you.

I want the red commander deck badly. My LGS sold out of all the commander decks before I could ask for a reservation, so it looks like I'll be taking a trip to the local Wal-Mart Friday morning.

I was already building Kurkesh as my second commander, so the fact that they printed this new red deck is awesome. I think I'd rather play Derevi though.

People don't realize Barnes and Noble sells Magic cards. If you have them in your area, go check them out. Last year, I made several trips to five and picked up seven of the Esper ones, a month AFTER they've been out.

Depends which one.

If you're going to go UR, I suggest Tibor and Lumia

Firemind is fun. He can play a lot of wheel effects, and because your deck is really just wheel effects, combo pieces, draw spells and a few value cards, you can just wheel away most hands after playing combo pieces because that's mostly what you care about finding.

by Dechs Kaison
Nekusar is the wheel guy now.

Nivmizzet is ok. UR is just not that powerful in a competitive playgroup.

Val, don't play Derevi...don't be that guy! Well it depends on how you build him, but the guy in my playgroup used to play T3 Winter Orb lock combo, until we basically told him to stop being gay.

Trying to decide what deck to start grinding with in Standard for the PTQ season... It's between jeskai, RW burn, RW Tokens/burn and heroic. There are 8 PPTQs in Georgia, I am hoping to hit every one of them and spike that bitch.

Unless the meta truly hates it out, I will be on Jeskai for the entirety of this season. The deck just calls to me.

I'd be a valuetown build. I don't like turn 3-4 combo decks in what's supposed to be a casual format. That's what Modern and Legacy is for.

I understand this line of thinking, and unless your playgroup is ALL of the same mindset....you will be losing a lot. Doing broken things in commander is more fun than watching someone else do them.

by Valdarith
Playgroup has similar mindset. There's a gentleman's agreement on what floats and what doesn't.

But hey, you said "don't be that guy." :D All of our decks can do broken things. They can also win in the first few turns of the game, but not consistently. I've played Grave Titan on turn two before, but things like that happen irregularly.
