I can't seem to come up with a good Mardu deck which is frustrating.
Have you tried simply combining all the best removal spells with the best fliers in the format?
Ashcloud Phoenix,
Butcher of the Horde,
Stormbreath Dragon,
Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker.
An article on SCG that I recently read mentioned something about there being no good 1 or 2 drops, and the solution to that was to simply not play them. This means you run taplands, and your 3-drops are simply removal spells.
Arc Lightning,
Anger of the Gods, [card]Hero's Downfall[/card],
Banishing Light, etc.
The other end of the spectrum really just looks like Mardu Tokens, featuring
Mardu Ascendancy, which saves your ass from the lesser sweepers.

You would think a deck that can go T3 Brimaz/Rabble > T4 Butcher > T5 Stormbreath/Sarkhan would be easy to build.

I've tested them a lot, the problem is, they're not good. Something is missing.

Cockatrice has muddied itself with unnecessary separate releases. At any time you find yourself saying to your users "download this if you have version X, and this if you have version Y, and no, there's really no way to tell which version you have," then you've failed.
That said, it's still the best MTG application.
I generally just uninstall and re-install any time a new set comes out, because I'm too lazy to figure out which version I have, and how exactly I'm supposed to be updating this particular one.
What's everyone playing for Gameday?
Probably a bunch of Project M with friends, since I don't care to become invested in Standard again

What was different than the reality?
Does anyone want to play on Cockatrice with me? I don't like playing with randoms on there, they always get mad at me for not knowing all the controls, and various other things since I have no idea how the program is supposed to work.
These are the only things you need to know:
Ctrl+I = Roll a die
Ctrl+M = Draw initial hand/mulligan
Ctrl+D = Draw a card
Ctrl+Enter = Next turn
Ctrl+W = Look at the top card of your library
F3 = Look at your library
F4 = Look at your graveyard
Drag a card with right click = draw arrow from one card to another
Everything else can be click/right clicked, but it does help to learn some other few hotkeys.
I can't seem to come up with a good Mardu deck which is frustrating.
That walkers list sounds most appealing.

I was having the same problem. That is why I have switched over to Temur and having a good ol time with it.

I'll be playing updated in control at game day, fusing the aspects of Floch's list that I liked with CFB Pantheons. Why? I'm stubborn. Expect salt filled stories after the weekend.

let me guess, you're gonna take Owen's deck, add more hand disruption and temples?
Today there was a celebratory Tourney in honor of the GP Orlando winner and while I didn't get to play, I got...heavily discounted food and booze while I got to watch a lot of playtesting going on.
Pretty sure Jeskai burn is by far the best deck for the GP. You just have to slightly tweek your deck to fix your Abzan matchup and it's pretty heavily favored vs. the rest of the field.
I should actually rephrase that: Jeskai burn is the best deck for winning the GP. Green/x devotion is the safest choice and should easily make day 2 and/or get you money, but Jeskai I'd expect to beat a top 8 compromised of mostly green devotion decks, a control deck and a mix of jeskai/abzen depending on how heavily people are prepping for abzan and/or making there decks inbred.

Generally, the deck that just won the pro tour is almost always NOT the deck you want to play for the following GP.

You cant ever beat Junk when you're only 2-for-1s are dig through time, thats just not enough card advantage tomatch the card quality of that deck. Like Ari said, every threat he plays needs to be answered, so you need more answers.

Curious.
Guessing you're adding Ingenuity to flocks deck then in place of some sphinxs?

I was pretty surprised at the utter lack of card draw in flocks deck.

Abzan's the reason why I'm sticking with Green Devotion and Jeskai's the reason why I'm playing with a few copies of Nylea's Disciple in the main.
I had a heavy discussion with a guy that made Top 8 at SCG States with Abzan control. I never realized how good Bow of Nylea is in the build if you go that direction. Gaining 3 life a turn laughs at Jeskai, putting counters on Caryatid/Courser/Rhino is very relevant, and recycling removal cards from the graveyard back into the deck is great, especially with fetchlands. 2 damage to flyers is a dud, but I guess it can hit pesky hornets.

-1 land, -2 sphinx, +3 ingenuity.
Great minds. Sphinx is an awful clock but a fine finisher once you're WAYYYYYYY ahead.

2 Disdainful Stroke
1 Keranos, God of Storms
2 Negate
2 Erase
3 Brimaz, King of Oreskos
3 Hushwing Gryff
2 End Hostilities
Digging this sideboard so far for Jeskai.

Fulk's new r/w walkers list
Moves stormbreathdragon to main, plays seeker of the way in sideboard, switches out last breath for suspensionfield, plays more end hostilities.

TradeWind, is that you?
http://mtgtop8.com/search?player=TradeWind.
I'll probably playtest some terrible red deck at FNM, and then on Saturday I'll play Boss Sligh. Can't play the same list at both, since all the locals will just fill their sideboards with hate.
All I want to do is play
Stormbreath Dragon and
Ashcloud Phoenix in the same deck, but I can't decide what colors I want, or what else to fill the deck with. I miss Red Devotion already, where all my deckbuilding decisions were made by counting red mana symbols.

Insomnious testing seems that this list may be actually working. I'd appreciate some feedback though.
[deck]
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
4 Ashcloud Phoenix
4 Stormbreath Dragon
2 Purphoros, God of the Forge
2 Hammer of Purphoros
4 Chained to the Rocks
4 Raise the Alarm
4 Magma Jet
4 Lightning Strike
2 Hordeling Outburst
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
4 Wind-Scarred Crag
4 Battlefield Forge
4 Temple of Triumph
13 Mountain
[/deck]
It's been faring pretty well so far, on Cockatrice at least.
Goblin Rabblemaster continues to kind of just exist, and not actually do a whole lot for me. Maybe
Hushwing Gryff should be in the main, idk.
Hordeling Outburst could probably be something else, but I've been swapping cards in and out of that slot for a couple hours and can't really find something that I like.
Purphoros, God of the Forge has actually been okay in there, getting extra value out of the token generation, and Ashcloud returning to the battlefield. Randomly comes online with a hammer and a bird out too.

I refuse to accept that there isn't a deck there though. Wizards wouldn't do that to me lol.
I'm attempting what is basically Strasky's t8 Jeskai deck but mardu instead.
Rider = Butcher
Charm = Crackling doom
Other small changes. Basically mardu burn.

In case it sparked any interest:
[Deck]
creatures
4 seeker of the way
4 goblin rabblemaster
4 butcher of the horde
2 stormbreath dragon
spells
2 chandra, Pyromaster
4 magma jet
4 lightning strike
4 Stoke the flames
4 crackling doom
4 hordeling outburst
Land
3 bloodstained mire
4 temple of triumph
2 temple of malice
3 battlefield forge
1 caves of koilos
4 nomad outpost
1 swamp
6 mountain
[/deck]
Still rough and only slightly tested. Has a little more punch and Doom which both help the Abzan and green matchups while still having game against the mirror and control. Sacrifices a bit against aggro because it's a little slower but can turn the corner well with life gain, which also lets it stay in the long game.
In addition to gryff and erase I can now board things like despise and erebos.

Doing the same thing yes. Not as well is debatable and I need more testing to know for sure. I think the theoretical arguments are there though. I'm going both bigger and wider than them while being better able to control the board in long slugfests.

How do you feel about
Jace, The Living Guildpact?
I've been testing him as a 2-of and I've actually been pretty impressed with him. Turns out that having something that fuels your delve spells every turn is pretty awesome

I think a Boros list with CTTR and Ashcloud Phoenix is is better than a Mardu list with Crackling Doom and Butcher (for the given reasons for going Mardu), but I like Crackling Doom so I'm hoping it works out regardless.
Tried that too. It's more consistent than any 3 color deck but just didn't have the power level I was looking for. And now that we know we're going to face rhinos all day long I'm looking for something that goes over the top and races better. Jeskai is the other obvious best deck but I think it loses head to head against abzan.

Did I used to sound like this much of a virgin? Jesus, taking off the rose colored glasses makes this whole site look a lot more pathetic. :
is this directed at me? All I'm saying right now is that this is a deck I'm beginning to test and giving my reasons why I think it's worth testing. If it falls flat that's fine and I'll move to something proven.
