^^this. If all the good cards really were at the top of the box, we'd have heard it before this. However, playing one end of the system every time is usually a good way to reduce your chance of failure.

Given a large enough sample size (every booster ever made), then taking a randomized selection of those 36 of them (a box), then taking the top or bottom half of that box will yield a result that's exactly as random as if you'd picked the 18 boosters out at random.

Playing either end of the system every time won't affect your chance of failure or success. Imagine playing Roulette and betting black every time. You'll still win slightly less than 50% of the time, regardless of your inputs.

Just to add on, I split a box with a friend and gave him the top half. I ended up slightly ahead on money eve though he pulled a Sorin.
