Well, I am a married man now. The wedding had its share of ups and downs. I was sick, it rained, it was cold and windy, we forgot something and had to run back, we started 15 minutes late, one bridesmaid's stupid younger sister knocked over our sand for the sand ceremony, and other such things. Could have gone worse, though. Pictures to come eventually. I'm in bed right now since I barely made it through without passing out. Think I might sleep a while...

Burning Vengeance is probably viable if you have a way of not getting owned by mono-red. For that reason, I think you need some number of ultimate price in the deck or other hard removal. [card]Far//Away[/card] is probably amazing as well. The biggest problem with grixis in standard right now is no reasonable lifegain. [card]Sorin's Thirst[/card] or Tendrils of corruption would go a long way.
Speaking of mono-red, played this list at FNM last night to 3-1:
[deck]Main:
4 Stromkirk Noble
4 Rakdos Cackler
2 Stonewright
4 Ash Zealout
2 Lightning Mauler
4 Pyreheart Wolf
4 Hellrider
2 Zealous Conscripts
2 Thundermaw Hellkite
2 Pillar of Flame
2 Mizzium Mortars
4 Searing Spear
23 Mountains
1 Hellion Crucible
Sideboard:
3 Hound of Griselbrand
3 Boros Reckoner
1 Mizzium Mortars
2 Flames of the Firebrand
n3 Volcanic Strength
3 Traitrous Blood[/deck]
My one loss was to junk midrange in round 3. Game one, I mulled to THREE, and got him to six life, needing to topdeck a land for Thundermaw Hellkite which would have been lethal along with my hellrider. Game 2, I'm ashamed of myself because I kept 6 lands and Thundermaw after being traumatized from my mull to 6. I figured "I'll get there, I already have my top end."
Round 1 vs. Bant Auras. Game one, I have a good start, but turn 4, his stalker swings with Unflinching courage, Etheral Armor, Spectral flight, and Rancor. Games 2 and 3, I pillared all his guys while beating down with stromkirks. Game 3, he kept the cavern, Avacyn's Pilgrim hand...not good against the red deck with 10 removal spells.
Round 2, played against a Jund player who beat me last week. Game 1, I keep ash zealot, two mountains, spear I think, and triple hellrider. Before I find my 4th land, I become acquainted with Sire of Insanity. Games 2 and 3, he kept shaky hands and
was punished for it. We discussed the matches afterwards and he was amazed at how well I was able to read his hands. Apparently I can see people doing math and follow along with there plays.
Round 4, I play against Bant something. I'm assuming Prime Speaker. Game 1, he's stuck on land drops. Game two, I attack him to...16 with a board of 2 guys+hound of griselbrand with stromkirk noble and stonewright in hand. I decide to play stromkirk to get him to wrath. He falls for it. Next turn, stonewright, bound to hound, beat for 12? Overall, was very happy with the deck. It's not an optimal list because of card availability and such, but close enough is surely good enough right?

I think at the States I played in 2 years ago, the most I ever had was 3. It was still more then enough for your opponents to lose all hope.
Also, after watching some GP Portland coverage, I decided to throw together Shuuhei's tribal geist deck and have been immensely satisfied. Swing with geist, might of alara and boros charm my angel. Take 18?

I miss Doom BladeThoughts?
But, yeah, the list seems like one of the more promising b/g zombies lists. Are you sure you need 22 land, though? And do we have anything better than cackler? Sideboard seems really good, considering you already have a plan against aggro with so much mb removal.

Also, might be kinda late, but I'd like to thank Windstrider for re-doing the Dos Rakis primer. It got me to load a list up onto Cockatrice and test it out a bit, and I loved it! My friend still has a B/r zombies deck from December (he hasn't been able to play much at all), and I'll see if I could borrow some of his lands and Aristocrats. Still need Thundermaws, though. Without them, would you suggest replacing them with Conscripts or simply playing a version with a lower curve?

8 three drops I want to cast on curve; what's better than 2 power guy 9-12? It's super important to curve out and Cackler maximises your nut draws while taking pressure off needing G in your opener. I'm not sure I understand your questions at I'm afraid - what specifically would you like addressed?

I was thinking that the cackler slot could possibly be changed for a 4-drop, changing the deck's principles very much. If the deck wants a nut draw more than a late game, then I guess it works. However, I really don't know what I'm talking about here, since I haven't actually seen someone play this deck since 2012.

@kaze – Congratulations! You survived it. She survived it. That's the important part.
@freedom – Thanks! A lot of the ideas for the new list came from redthirst. We kinda hashed it out after that. I'm hoping to keep the Primer updated as the card choices adapt to the metagame.
As for no Thundermaws, the Conscripts doesn't have the raw power of the 'maws, but they do have flexibility. I had one in my list prior to getting a third 'maw, and it worked out fairly well. You could also try Exava in that slot to lower the curve a bit. Maybe two Exavas and a Conscripts? Try it out.

Is that really enough green mana sources? Eight that tap for green with fifteen cards that require it? I remember playing Soul Sisters with a full set of Shrines/Chapels just for Zealous Persecution and Vault triggers, and I still[/i:[deck]

There's 12 green sources in there; more than half the mana base.

Does the deck have dedicated sideboard plans? If not, it probably wouldn't hurt to have DRS in the board.

I haven't spoken to my mother in over 4 years. And I don't plan to anytime soon.no one else is a terrible son today?
On the other hand, I paid for my girl to get her nails done and I cooked her French Toast and eggs this morning. She's a good mom, and I love her kids. I wish they were really mine.
In a pinch, Khaos' beard can help turn this around.
I rarely skip a Khaospawn wall of text because I know there is always piss at the end of the rainbow.
