If I where recommending a gauntlet to everyone, it would include:

GR fatties
Mono-Black Aggro
Junk Midrange
Rabble Red

This is a fairly easy gauntlet to assemble because the GR and Junk decks build themselves and mono-black and rabble red retain a lot of there flagship cards and you can come up with a reasonable build for the sake of simple 'enemy' testing.

RE Mono-black agro: The deck is very good and has several different ways you can go, but the first question you must answer is pain seer vs. murderous cut. You can obviously play both in the same deck, but if you do, you open yourself up to killing yourself as everything in the deck deals you damage, so it's generally better to run 1 or the other, or at least a very minimal amount of 1 if you want a bunch of the other. Owens deck as posted in his last article is as one of his co-workers said unplayable with seize/seer/sign in blood/cut all asking you to just
die on turn 4.

Once you solve that issue though, you likely have the best agro deck in the format. Herald of torment is a card I would just start buying if you could pick it up cheap as I expect it to spike sometime in the next six months as it's a perfect card, all the one-drops are very good, the deck has a high level of customization and you get access to thoughtseize. In the hands of a skilled pilot, MBA is one of the scarier decks to play against because there's so much it can do between removal, hand disruption, evasive threats, and bestow. All the mana-sinks do an excellent job of filling the muta-void left after rotation.

Also: Bug is the most garbage deck so far. I've seen 3 different lists so far between CFB and SCG and they all just seem aweful. Not terrible in the way the stuff I saw on sally was terrible, but bad in the sense that the Wedge as people are building it seems very weak. Sidisi is the card you want to play in BUG. If you want to get crazy with nissa, either play straight BG, or just build a green deck around nissa like devotion.

Anyone think Polluted Delta will drop in price after Khans is released?

by BlakLanner
I think so. This set is going to be widely opened and drafted. Demand will keep the price higher than the other fetches but I see Delta bottoming out around $12.

I'd add Reid Duke's genesis green deck to any gauntlet. It retains a lot of cards, has the caryatid/courser team, still goes over the top with nykthos, etc. Plus it's a Reid Duke deck so the masses will come with it clutched between their man breasts.

My plan for fetches is to let the initial swarm of buying subside before I start spending money on any that I don't need for my initial standard deck. they'll be 15-25 for a bit, I think, but drop to 10ish once many people have them but the set is still being drafted.

I think they will all drop in price.

18 Crackling Dooms in my local shop for 1,5$ each. Invest or not? You think this is safe?

$1.50 is a pretty low risk spec. It doesn't seem like a staple card to me, but will certainly play a SB role in Mardu decks and EDH after that.

Butcher of the Horde for 4,2$?

Why the hell Rattleclaw mystic costs 5$ low?

^^these types of cards stay cheap. Just look at Counterflux (a far superior card that still fits your description).

Savage Knuckleblade is a card so watch out for that. Herald of Anafenza can take over a game paired with Butcher.

Go get your Butchers before they spike in price. Rattleclaw is cheap because it's a buy-a-box promo I believe.

Yeah, that seems right. It's a good card for my BBBSG sideboard, but kind of fringe because of the colors. Just like Hide//Seek, which sees no pay because only scrumps like me play the Dega wedge

Hey, I introduced you to that card. It works, doesn't it? I do agree with the assessment that Crackling Doom will stay inexpensive.

Mardu aggro's missing 2-drop might be Phyrexian Revoker

I actually really like Cracking Doom, it'll see some play, it's a pretty powerful card.

A Standard legal Magic card

Preferably one with an activated ability.

Yeah, so which one? :stubborn:

I'd say that one seems like a pretty good choice

completely depends on what land my opponent put out T1 (and T2 if I'm on the draw). But the ability is just gravvy. I'm just looking for a 2-drop with at least 2 power that you can cast with the landbase. Revoker has the distinction of being one of the only 2 drops that stays good throughout the game. Tymaret does too of course. But I keep seeing all these lists that go black, into b/w or r, into r, into butcher. Seems a little scattered.

Mana Dorks, butcher of the horde, walkers, Polukranos.

pretty much. can even name sylvan caryatid. distinction with needle - needle can hit lands, revoker can't. needle can't stop mana sources, revoker can.

Even naming Polykranos or Stormbreath blindly isn't necessarily horrible depending on the matchup.

Siege Rhino. It's practically a must play in its colors, and 99.9% of the time it will be a 4 of in those decks.

Pithing Needle and Phyrexian Revoker both only hit activated abilities, not triggered abilities.

I was talking about investment wise. I probably should have made it more clear.

Rhino is hovering at $4.

Shit, that's a bit more than I'd like. I'd definitely get in on $10 playsets, but, since I don't plan on buying a $200 mana base to play this guy, he seems a bit out of spec range.

The card is very strong in contrast to our current pool of cards, though.

Rhino seems relatively safe.

It's blatantely strong and plays itself. It's THE incentive to play junk.

The fact that Junk currently has all the best Midrange Control cards is probably the incentive to play Junk.
