I'm taking a sick day and watching GoT episodes in between trips to the shitter. Plus, I'm pretty doped up on antibiotics and cold meds.

How's everyone else doing?

Starting the 4th episode of GoT. I finally get the Hodor jokes.
I've seen every episode and read all of the books, and while I "get" the jokes, I still don't get why they're funny. :frown:

I'm sorry you're sick, but I couldn't think of a better way to spend it. I've been watching old episodes of GoT with one of my girls and enjoying the hell out of it. The last episode we watched was #8, Baelor. I won't spoil it, but that episode is going to knock you on your ass.

Day 87 of the challenge, some new girls in the pipeline that I picked up over the
weekend. 1 date last night, 2 more this week.

I'm arguing with a guy about how I said Slumbering Dragon was bad right now - he agrees with me that it is bad, but he's taken issue with how I've said it.

He's like: It's a logical falacy to say that SD is bad because it is not seeing play and it is not seeing play because it's bad - that's circular logic.

I'm like: This isn't a debate. I'm not trying to use logic to explain some impossible to prove point to you. I'm giving you proof that the card is bad - it's not seeing play. There are decks that can easily run it and the types of decks that it would be best against make up a significant portion of the meta, but it's still not seeing any play at all. That's not an argument for why you should consider the card unplayable - that's evidence.

Fucking fuckers...

Man, I got knocked out of T8 Friday night thanks to Slumbering Dragon. This guy's deck was so bad. Even though it ran all the usual mana dorks and such, he still maindecked at least 2 Rolling Temblor to wipe my board and kill me with Silverhearts. The next game he played SD on turn 2 while I built some board presence. He then breathes a HUGE sigh of relief when he topdecks Increasing Savagery on T4 and casts it. On his next turn, I say, "Welp, you lucky bastard, I think you've won this one." But before I could finish the sentence he just sticks his hand out and says GG.

Fuck that fucker. It was NOT a GG for me. Then he runs off to his friends to tell them how '"Bah-roken Slumbering Dragon is."

Fuck that kid. And fuck Slumbering Dragon.

And not once did he pay for drugs....

Ugh. Full day of work followed by a 4 hour night class yesterday. I am fucking wrecked. I wish I didn't snore so I could camp out in one of the bathroom stalls and get some sleep. Sadly, that is not the case. My wife would compare my snoring to something like a chainsaw. Thank god my company got us super nice espresso makers. Time for another (yes, another) triple shot.
And not once did he pay for drugs....

Standard Deck Construction - Build Around Varolz, BRG

I entered the conversation because I was impressed with how humble and knowledgable one of the new posters was.

I also threw out there that one of the other members had mentioned not playing Slumbering Dragon in the deck because it wasn't good without Varolz out and that attitude should be carried over the the VDs that everyone was playing. Instead of getting bombarded with people telling me how awesome VD is, I got thrown an idiot curve ball and told how awesome SD is instead.

Since I thought it was absolutely ridiculous to have to argue about how unplayable SD is I simply pointed out that it had been legal for about a year with lots of decks that it could be played in and against if it were a legitimate card and it still wasn't played in anything.

But that just caused the retards to start screaming "logical falacies" while drooling and humping their
monitors.

It was too bad, cause there was actually some nice discussion going in there. I was impressed by some of the decklists too. Nothing Pro tour worthy, but they looked like a blast for FNM. And then they had to fuck it all up.

If by now you mean the CCG came out in like 2002 and the LCG came out in like 2008 then yeah.

Really good game, it just got overly complicated with the keywords, rules, and abilities. Kind of like the LoTR TCG.

Windstrider in the clear, fuck yeah.

RE: Ascension. Played it a handful of times against my friend on his Iphone app, was very fun. He was pissed the first time we played because I beat him by one point.

If you can't beat me at magic, why do you think you can beat me at a game created by people who play magic John?
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

I was curious as to why I've wanted to punch everyone in the face lately. Then I realized that I'm on day 50 of the Ham Challenge, and my wife has felt like shit since she started her Lyme meds. So I've gotten absolutely nothing in the past 50 days. I feel like I could dismantle a fucking tractor with my bare hands right now.
