That was good enough for top 8 right? That's awesome.
One more day to go; I'm 7th right now.
Wilfy Horig from the draft video is 3rd; Tim Hughes from the cube video is first. Sam Loy who I built the deck in playing with is 9th.

My draft deck was disgusting but I got killed by a top deck Merchant for 10 in game 3 of the pod finals. I had two if the centaur lord that gives vigilance, trample; a bunch of centaurs, a hind, a voyaging satyr, some burn spells and a twin flame.

I was going to play the SC2 expansion for the first time since I got it last year but my authenticator isn't working. I imagine it has something to do with getting a new phone since I last logged on, and now apparently I have to go through some BS about copying my ID and yada yada and aint nobody got time fo dat.

With fire. You should kill everything with fire.

The only thing you need to know about the show is in the first ten seconds of the first episode you see Laura Prepon's funbags.

Has anyone ever felt like the Magic games they play are like solving a puzzle? Sort of like an awkward puzzle that's always changing and allows for multiple right answers. When I was playing last Friday, I remember sitting down across from my opponent, taking a look at my hand, and then, after seeing the first land they put out, I thought, "Ah, they're playing X deck. Their win conditions are A, B, and C. How do I answer that?"
I would look at my hand and start crafting a solution to the puzzle that's their deck. It wasn't a concrete plan where I need to do steps S, T, and U. It was more like simple instructions, "pressure now", "hold back in case of verdict", "he'll stall with Courser, remove it", "Go all in, this is your moment to win", etc. Anyone else have that experience?

That's definitely a solid approach to take. I personally like to see my opponent as the puzzle. Looking at everything from the way they shuffle, the dice they use, the shirt they are wearing, their demanor etc. as clues.
Then I just play a role that I think will put them the most on edge and most likely to make mistakes. E.g. speed of play (slow and deliberate play vs. a very easy and linear deck like mono black has worked well), amount of trash talk (especially effective vs. control decks with a lot of decisions), amount of competence shown, etc.
Its more fun that way at least for me, since I try to make my decks all about smashing and killing its the style you smash and kill with that alters each game.

Not bad. Does your country still have 2 other qualifiers? I don't remember how WMCQ go which I assume this was.

It was Nationals, three wmcq coming up still.

You guys still have nationals? What kind of tourney is it?
Does the winner rep your team or where nationals reinstated while I was snoozing world wide.

Two days split format. It's run by an alliance of stores, not by wotc.
Nationals team comes from wmcqs.

FIgures.
Pretty sweet though that your country does that.
Makes sense with it being a smaller market and all.

I did have one high level moment; against a Jund opponent I let him beat me for 12 with a Goyf because I knew he had a second in hand; I made the "error" of cryptic to counter/draw his Liliana which let him free resolve the second Goyf; I untapped and Electrolyzed both then played and cracked a Relic. Next turn was Batterskull (with Asuka germ token).
I do think my deck list is amazing, I just need to play better.
