Godsend is like the Sword of X and Y cycle, except completely awful.
But zem, the dual elements swords are bad comparisons since they're bonkers to begin with.

How is Godsend any more like them than other Equipment cards?
They're pointy.

Read up on Ben Drowned today. I want my mommy.

Apparently I actually haven't seen all of the internets yet.

Elements swords were utterly busted, off-the-curve powerful...no equipment is going to compare favorably with them.

That being said, Godsend--while very pretty--is not likely worth the trouble. Its casting cost ties it strongly to white, it has no protection/evasion, and it is totally chumped by any token generator.

Dammit, DS...I meant no NEW equipment, since supposedly the days of absurd colorless equipment are "over". :p Of course there are other OP weapons in our past, but comments from Wizards during Innistrad suggested that we're not likely to see anying on that level from here on.

Unless of course some
genius decides to go back to Mirrodin, in which case you can bet on them trying to go over-the-top of the last debacle.

And Ajani...fuck GW. They are going to be one annoying PITA after rotation if this trend continues. Gain 100 life...seriously? Just give me my Dreadbores and let me build a decent Rakdos deck, please.

Ajani is unplayable trash, I wouldn't worry about him.

I know he's not likely to end up in real decks, but that's not going to stop all the GW fanatics at my LGS from shoehorning him into an irritating GW Aggro deck after rotation. I'm not being particularly "deep thinking" at the moment...it's just a visceral reaction echoing my hatred of GW Aggro as an archetype.

I like to lift in my Five Fingers, but I got the Minimus to have something I could wear to casual non-gym functions without looking like a crossfit tryhard.
This is where Merrell's Gloves shine. The Tough Glove I have isn't made anymore, but their Excursion Glove is a good replacement and very good looking:

Yeah, not as cool as the hound of some demon, but I wonder if there is a need for a more feasible Furor of the Bitten.

Eh, you kind of want them to do that. Playing this bad card instead of a card that does things is good for you.

I haven't posted in a while either. Life is hectic. :(
Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you gonna get.
You still gonna be at GP Atlanta? We're trying to get the logistics of going sorted out but I'm like 90% sure the whole Charlotte crew is going.
Maybe. It's sealed isn't it? I'd rather shoot myself
in the face than play sealed.

Geez, apparently the entire interwebs has spontaneously ejaculated in unison over the 4th coming of Ajani.

Let's see....can't defend himself.....ultimate doesn't win the game....hmmm...

I wouldn't go so far as to label him unplayable, but he can't win the game on his own and he definitely needs help with creatures for him to be relevant. He is pretty bad.

Anyone coming to GP Atlanta let me know! I know all the hotspots. Unfortunately the Civic Center is not located around good bars/strip clubs. I recommend staying in a hotel near midtown, highlands or buckhead. No matter where you choose where you chose the civic center is only 15 mins up I-85 with no traffic.

I feel like they're designing a lot of the mythics for casual now. I mean, they always have, but they'd at least be playable in standard as well.

But these ones seem like they'll be the "good" ones from the set.

YES! They had Noah Bradley do the art for Temple of Epiphany, and it looks fantastic.

The new Ajani Sucks. Uw plays Elixer of Immortality and just draws out a 100+ life opponent. The losers on MTGS are calling the age of Bant Super friends. I am not impressed at all as Ajani needs 'dudes' to work. Does not trigger heroic which would have been great. When I first saw the -8 gain 100 life; all I could think was "really?, I play Erebos and don't care." This set is shaping up to Dragonmaze, but without a super good mythic or rare for other formats. May be the rares will be better as more is released?

On the subject of Godsend, why not run Sword of Kaldra instead? If I read Godsend right; if your dude is not blocked, your dude gets removed?

This set is already better than Dragon's Maze.

I tried telling people on Facebook that Ajani isn't that good. Now I'm "the bad guy." Why do I even bother?

Is this what it feels like to be Zem?

No, you also have to be really condescending to the people who think Ajani is that good.

I'll probably just play side events though.

Agreed that this set is already better than Dragon's Maze. In fact it's probably better than BNG at this point. I like a lot of the cards that have been spoiled so far. None of them are just OMG broken but there's a lot of "build around me" stuff and that appeals to me.
