So I gave lol a go and I love playing marksman, playing as Caitlyn right now but wondering what would be the best marksman to buy? I want to get used to the one class for a while

Caitlyn is good, as are Tristana, Lucian, and Ashe. I think the most popular pick for marksman (more commonly referred to as ADC, or "attack damage carry) is Cait or Lucian right now, with the next lowest tier consisting of Ezreal, Tristana and Jinx.

If you have one bad player on your team, or a troll... You lose, That is why this game sucks.

Thats not true, at least for bad players, sometimes you can coax them into simply not dying (least more so than they already have) and farming passively, so long as your not spamming "ZOMG U SUCK UNINSTALL"

Trolls, well not much you can do, other than carry harder.

For better or worse, ADCs all tend to build pretty similarly so once you the build semi-memorized, your set

Usually you'll want to build some combination of the following

Bloodthirster
Last Whisper
Phantom Dancer
Statik Shiv
Infinity Edge
Trinity Force
Blade of the Runed King
Berserker Boots
Guardian Angel
Randuin's Omen
Banshee's Veil
Mercurial Scimitar

of those, Bloodthirster, Last Whisper, Infinity Edge and Berserker Boot's are almost always standard, you usually want one AS item and one defensive item,

There are a few who build differently (Ezreal/Lucian usually wants to rush tri, Vayne rushes Blade) but for the most part thats it

Almost always build AD first,
though.

Caitlyn/Ezreal are the safest ADC's in the game, Caitlyn is pretty much always a safe pick (range, escape, no real downsides, ult is sketchy though), and Ezreal has a built in blink, and you can farm with his Q if your behind. Sivir is pretty cheap and, prior to the current patch (skimmed what it did to her, prolly should read it again), was top tier, Jinx/Lucian/Draven are the other top tier ones, but all 3 are remarkably expensive, and draven can be hard to play correctly.

I tend to only play League when my friends force me to, but ultra rapid fire is pretty damn awesome, and I hope they make it a permanent game mode. There's no better feeling in that game than chain comboing people with Alistar.

I have never tried building a Randuin's Omen on an AD ranged carry. You're not supposed to get hit so the slow from getting hit won't really be useful. You'd be bulky yes but you don't need that bulk. I'd rather go with a Banshee's Veil or a Guardian Angel to save from those times when you get hooked by a Blitzcrank or something.

At the time, I remember a few people getting it, I never personally bought it, I just knew of people doing that in solo queue

It's okay against someone that can dive you real easy (shyvana) but I agree, you shouldn't be getting hit ideally, and in those cases your support/team should be peeling for you.

If I wanted more kiting power, I'd go with a Frozen Mallet. It also gives that extra bulk.

Randuins is really good on ADCs. It's basically a self-peel. If you're getting dumped on by champions with gapclosers, it makes it significantly easier to kite them. In tandem with Blade of the Ruined King, you pretty much can't be caught

I was playing a game in ranked 5s last night where the enemy team had both Ireila and Jax going ham on me as Jinx. I bought Randuins as my fourth item and just kited them to shit. Jax was still a little tricky since his leap is such a low cooldown but Irelia eventually just stopped trying to kill me.

Irelia is effin' OP. She was the first champion I played and I still play her from time to time.

It was actually Irelia mid, we had TF mid and she just shits all over him.

We won that game, but it was fucking close.

TF should have just tried to stay close to his tower and wait for backup. With Irelia's passive, his stun is almost useless.

i usually go with BT first on an ADC if i'm farming well. if not, i'm going with static shyv so i can farm faster.

as for lucian... i wouldn't really know because i don't play him
