Is it common for mafia to throw other mafia under the bus i.e. Kpaca voting Yanni all game?
yes.
if your scum buddies are acting scummy, bus them.

@Checkbox: I'm actually fairly impressed with your play; the one unforgivable sin of the n00b is being such a chaotic asshat that it's impossible for others to tell what you're trying to do, which obscures their ability to hunt scum. You avoided this, and your posts were topical, interesting, and didn't stonewall, instead providing concise analysis into the player you were talking to, especially Phantom (which he then completely fucked by being a retard).

I support unilateral vigging.
This is kpaca as I know him
He gets to be vig a lot

I agree with her I mean we shouldn't be telling new players to fuck themselves, might turn them off to the game

and there's a difference between being abrasive and playing agressively than outright beign a douche

cf Kpaca's recent post.
Yall might want to set up some kind of standard.

If I wasn't dead that would be a significant incentive for me to vote for him because all this level of crudeness detracts from a good productive day spent investigating instead of throwing insults around, so it makes for scum or weak own, both things one can live without

That's pretty much what I was saying - him being that aggressive only spells votes for him (assuming town play "correctly")

I can see the logic. He plays like a douche, gets lynched, and town looks at who they've caught and goes "Oh, the scum we've caught so far have been super-aggressive, let's target aggression!" while
just plays the nice-guy card and quietly lurkills everyone.

I might be wrong but usually that's not a good trade. you only throw other scum under the bus/get thrown under the bus in order to clear another buddy immediately in danger (or yourself)

Xim has lurked a bit too much, does he have like 3 or 4 posts in the entire game? I'm actually a bit frustrated at it.
I honestly think phantom is going to fuck this game up a bit. He already has to an extent.

"I'd rather kill Phantasmo.
I don't think there's any chance of lynching phantamo ever, so we need to get him sooner or later. I like roleblocking manders though."-Ximbad
"I mean why would we kill the guy doing everything? The more bad players dead the more sense it makes I'm alive"-KP

Also, fuck everybody telling me to chill. I don't curse when I'm actually mad, I curse when people are being great card analyst.
You misunderstand. You can curse til the fucking cows come home and I won't bat an eyelash. But I do not agree with attacking others on what is a personal level, and I believe telling someone "fuck you" constitutes as this. Regardless, this can be discussed when the game is over.
And no one said you should be going around claiming to be the vig to get our input. I'm saying, take into account what the other players have said and decipher where would be the best shot. Also, it's probably best to NOT vig someone who hasn't claimed. When you do that...you end up killing a poorly playing Town power role more often than not.
We are going to disagree on this.
I'm surprised no one pointed out the smoldering Cop's Corpse when he said this.

Quick question, why is it 5 to lynch with 7 alive?
Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2013 6:36 am
by Shalako
7/2= 3.5 round up to 4.0 then +1 for majority.
Is my math wrong? It could be I'm really tired.

No need to plus 1 for majority... Should just be 4, as that is a majority

I mean, obviously. But majority means something, I was pointing out that 4 is a majority in 7 people
Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2013 4:19 pm

I'm sure there are mafia conventions when it comes to these things, I just disagree that it should take 5 to lynch
Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2013 7:07 pm
by Yannaria
The tradition is five to lynch. iirc all of the games I've played in where 7 people are left it's been five to lynch. Six is four, five is three, four is three, three is two.
it's too prevent a slim majority from voting bloc and running the game and to stop confusing between seven people alive and six people alive (gets annoying to require the same number of votes with the exception of low numbers of people alive)
