How is that a trap? Tell me what you thought Z was thinking.
It's how I saw it. I came here with the intention of RSV voting you as a tradition I'm trying to initiate. Saw you already had a RSV vote, shrugged, and voted anyway. Next thing I know, zem seems to be drifting away from RSV by saying that my only action (voting for you) activated his "trap card" and I also noticed he was the one voting for you earlier.

You're not ignoring me at all. :stubborn:

Just stirring the pot. We're not at "reads phase" yet.

Z, can you confirm that your vote for GR was random? What do you think of his presumption that it was serious?

Damn Zem. Off and running to stir the pot with traps. Good job.

Vote Iamopen2 for bandwagoning on Stardust and acting scummy in every game I have played with him.
So you hop on an on-going wagon with the reason that your vote target hops on wagons? Hrm...

Unvote

Would you explain how unvoting and voting the same person shows a Scum mindset?

I would if I could, but I'm not sure how it does or doesn't show a scum mindset. It just looked very awkward so I want to hear more about it.

Trap card comment seems to come from a town mindset, so I decided to act on what I considered scummy first, then acknowledge other guy's scum hunting. Then I got reminded that I have a gentelmen's agreement with 'Dust to hold our reads of each other till at least day two (or longer, if appropriate)*.

*: This comes from several games where we have both been town and pushed for each other's lynch. Worked wonders last game, where I had strong scum reads on
him, yet he once again turned out to be town.

Wraith: please explain zem's "trap" to me.

Also, Unvote me since your reasoning is based on past games and not this game. My vote was the first real one for stardust.

Both of you answer the following questions.
1) What's wrong with Wraith's first post? (bonus points if you give multiple answers to this question)
2) What do you think of GR?
3) What do you think of each other?

Just have to say, I'm really happy with the results there too and am content to keep this agreement up. Normally I might have been inclined to join Pie on your wagon Day 1. Instead we caught scum twice in a row. :hifive:

Wraith:
1. bases his scum read of me on a previous game where I was scum and my "bandwagon" vote which was actually the first vote for you.
2. Congratulates Zem for a "trap" that doesn't seem to have actually caught anyone in anything (I'd like him to explain it to me)
3. Says Zem is consistent (duh, he's been town in the only(?) game wraith has played with him that is not ongoing).

It seems that in exchange for flavor-gaming wraith has subbed in nostalgic reads

GR: null. Vote and then Unvote vote for the same person is odd but not a tell. Claiming he is bad at English when he is better than most of the native speakers here is o_O but still nu to me. We'll see.

No comment on GR's trap thing (and his responses to my questions about it)?
Suga: is he in this game?
He is. He made a too-late random vote. Does that tell you anything at all?

Because in the signup thread he and I were talking back and forth and he said he was going to claim doc right out of the gate. I joked that I'd claim miller (though maybe the joke nature of it wasn't obvious). Then he claimed cop and that he doubted my un-claimed miller claim.

@Iamopen2, I think zem was waiting for "me to" voting. Who was the first to join ranks after him. His aggressive tendencies make it easy for scum to tag along in a vote and go unnoticed. He is using that tactic to scum hunt.
:eyebrow: .....looking at page one again......I missed that you voted for him. Thought I was starting the bandwagon. :slant: Boooooooo!

him too?

Damn it! I am tired from staying up late changing bandages. Been missing shit all morning. My vote was to prod Iamopen2. Still think it is good as he has only given commentary. It early game, thus I won't hold that against him.

1) What's wrong with Wraith's first post? (bonus points if you give multiple answers to this question) I is retarded this morning :B , Missed 2 votes
2) What do you think of GR? He is actually talking in cognitive sentences this game! Hmmmm. Is this scum brain talk?
3) What do you think of each other?
Iamopen2 is a good liar from previous games, play great gambles, can be a cyber bully, and likes to do commentary/small talk instead
of scum hunt or theorize plays. On me, I have a lot to learn, but my gut last game called his lie, but I did not listen.

Negative. I have earlier game issues and really don't trust Iamopen2. His last post on me never said what he thought of this game. Maybe trying to avoid mud. IDK?

Gut reads
need more posts to fact check, date and time stamp for comparison, and find claims not substantiated by deaths of flipped town or scum. Also, He quickly attacks Stardust again which could be pre-game BS, but IDK in the long run.

;-)

Just stirring the pot. We're not at "reads phase" yet.

Z, can you confirm that your vote for GR was random? What do you think of his presumption that it was serious?
It was indeed random. A friend of mine took a picture of me at a party last night, tagged it with "You've activated my trap card!" and sent it to
everyone. I had that picture on my phone in my hand when I saw G_R post and thought it was funny. Its a pretty well known TCG meme after all.

I can't make a meta read on G_R, because in our last game together he did pretty much nothing :/

As for taking it seriously, that seems reasonable; I did quickly end RVS in DTR mafia with a gambit play after all, and the consensus here seems to be that I have an aggressive style, so I can understand his reasoning. Overall though, his follow up posts seem more defensive than I would ordinarily expect from G_R, but that read is based more on intuition than experience - I just don't think he is the sort of guy that would show pressure quickly.

Keeping my vote on him for now; apparently that is the best way to get crazy responses from people.

Damn Zem. Off and running to stir the pot with traps. Good job.

- edit -

Zem plays really consistent, thus watching for scum tells will be very hard.
Now you're a fan of my style? You've not had much good to say about it in other games (this is our 3rd). Why the change of heart?

Meh, then. I gave you more credit than I should have I guess. Sadly I didn't get much from all this except Fate's signature "That was easy. Vote". What do you think?

Are you asking what I think of Fate's signature?

Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2014 11:52 pm

Yeah. We had a talk about this content-less voting last time Fate and I were in a game together. Do you think it's wagon hopping or anything at all?

Posted: Fri Jan 17, 2014 11:57 pm
by zemanjaski
I've had the benefit of reading through one of Fate's games before (Crosstown mafia 1 in the MafiaScum vs MTGS series) and he had a similar style there. While he as scum in that game, pretty much all the posters were like "Fate aggressively wagons, doesn't really post content as either faction". So, with that tiny bit of information I have available to me, I believe that he's just playing within his ordinary range as either faction.

crosstown mafia was a horrible horrible game. I'm usually not that bad as scum but I had literally no motivation to post on that site after we migrated here
