Kind of funny they went with the misfits that band together to save the world plotline considering in the comic they never were misfits but instead some of the scariest heroes/anti-heroes in the universe that banded together to beat the hell out of Thanos.

Makes sense though since general audiences have no idea who these characters are. Looks like a fun movie.
They fought against the Annihilation Wave and Phalanx, but I can't seem to recall the Guardians ever fighting Thanos head on. Of course, Drax was created specifically for this purpose, but he did it by himself. And
the version of Drax in the movie is drastically different than the original Drax. Are you thinking of Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch? That team had a few members (Drax and Gamora) that eventually went on to become Guardians. What is funny about Adam Warlock is after the Marvel heroes defeated Thanos and stripped him of the Infinity Gems, Warlock later gives Thanos one of the gems to protect.
Might be thinking Infinity Watch but also thinking it was Guardians of the Galaxy pre star-lord. Vance Astro was the leader.

So, I've been thinking about getting into mtgo for testing and playing around purposes, but can't really afford to rebuy all my cards and stuff...

What do y'all think?

Depends on the marignal utility of having it as a testing ground vs. the cost of buying all of your cards twice (which is even more significant as a redmage). Personally I wouldn't, primarily because monored staples cost 2-5 times as much as paper, and if you are testing on mtgo you have to buy all the staples, not just the ones you are using. I used to play a lot of pauper on mtgo, and I really enjoy that, but using it to test and then play paper is not for the light of wallet. If you can go infy on drafts we're having a much different conversation, I got close once,
managed to play almost daily for 2 months straight without additional investment during first ravnica block, but I was buoyed by a lot of luck in pulling shocklands and selling them after the event.

MTGO is best for testing so I'll recommend it

If you get good it can also be completely free (even provide profit) though the number of players going inf. on this forum is small (we do have a rather strong gathering here LP, Kait, Pedros etc.. etc...) so that can speak volumes on the difficulty in reaching this goal.

Depends on the format, if he is just playing standard the online cost would be much cheaper then that of the paper price (its not huge) and if the build is good/decent and he knows how to play the meta and the deck efficiently he'll make all his money back and then some.

Overall mtgo is cheaper, but RDW staples are almost always more than paper.

Even for standard? In America (I can understand that oversea shipping cost can be are much higher)?

I'll looking at MTGOGOLDFISH top Red list I can see the prices are drastically lower online then on Paper

Yep. I think I have the first 15 issues of the original Guardians of the Galaxy. I remember all the old characters. Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Martinex, Yondu, Firelord, Starhawk, Nikki. I remember when they recovered Captain America's shield in the 31st century. That was some awesome shit
back in the day.

My buddy took down FNM with G/R Monsters too. The deck is ridiculously good.

I played Walter Black to a 3-1 finish last night, playing in an IQ today, hoping the deck is good enough to beat the pants off of mono black repeatedly.

Why did my parents have to raise me to be a good person? I was going to draft, then hit the clubs and get my willy wet, but then I get a call from a coworker and she wants me to cover for her tonight, since her daughter came into town today to surprise her. So guess what I said?

Agreed - the cost of every Standard Red card is a lot cheaper on MTGO than IRL. Modern staples too :)

I enjoyed the UR Twin list splashing green for Goyf, and Blue Moon is fun to see. It will force the rest of the format to build more honest mana bases.

DO IT!

I'm probably the only serious Modern player here, but I do all of my playing and testing on MTGO. Would be fun to have you in the crew. It's nice not having to keep track of triggers and watching my opponents for cheaty behavior. Plus, tournaments every few hours.

Not quite. Maybe I can scare up some tail on grindr after work.

I'll see you in MOCS4 (Modern) ;-)

p.s. don't forget the grinding period starts on Feb 26 - Mar 26 - assuming you play 1 event per day you'll make more then enough to hit finals (if you win).

Did something similar a couple years ago with a now ex. Went to a vineyard about an hour outside the wentzville (the outer western limit of the stl greater metropolitan area) and we both ended up sloshed. Had to wait several hours to head back to the city.

I just lost to the URG Twin list on MTGO and Living End, couldn't find my Charms in time :( I'm enjoying Modern a lot, getting to grips with the format now :)
