Allright, replaced by Maze of Ith, you should know better, you are the mod.

If you guys want to adapt something more (like replacing Island by the Island) feel free to voice your opinion

I definitely think you're on the right track with a lot of that, but to be honest we're not exactly trying to get the site off the ground at the moment. We're not even an actual website yet -- just forums, and forums that are not being maintained yet. Unlike Salvation we plan to draw in crowds to an actual purposeful website that has a great community as a secondary backdrop, not just be a forum website. There is actually a new domain waiting to go as well as some neat plans for software that should make the site unique to the Magic community and hopefully give people a reason to stop by.

And not to brag but we had 75 guests (!!!) here over the weekend due to being the first website with the new spoiler properly uploaded on it for several hours. A new record for us. :toot: So we're getting out there when we put forth a little effort.

nFinally, I don't think anyone expected an exodus ala News. There wasn't really much of a choice back then. This on the otherhand was a small invisible subforum branching off from the largest Magic community on the internet, during Return to Ravnica. Banners and avatars were made to poke fun but nobody actually expected don't-knowers and don't-carer's to leave that place for this place.

Clearly a lot of people here need closure with the MTGS shit. And that appears to be happening. So that's what we're going to be talking about until Boubs does whatever he does.

I'm glad you're here, though. Hark on, Harkius.

well put madding. we're just waiting for the new domain name / aesthetic overhaul before we really put on the shiny professional image. right now we have virtually no advertising and our community is made up of gutter folks, mtgs mods, and some drama loving CI warriors. we're not exactly calling out for the masses at this point. some goofy spam in 1-2 goofy threads can't hurt. i don't see any spam in any of the mtg sections of the board. our site's CI is not meant to be the rigid hellhole that other sites have. some fun comments go a long way.

if you feel excluded, i'd suggest trying to include yourself. most of us are quite friendly when not provoked with silly forum drama.

You don't understand what a CI warrior is. They're trolls on Salvation and they usually get suspended once a month and eventually banned for sticking their nose in other peoples business. Think LogicX.

Nah, man, I am not upset or mad, regardless of how you think that I seem.

That's merely advice that I think will help you grow.

On a personal note, though, I think that I've finally been able to summarize the dumbest groupthink that you guys engage in.

User X has a belief about what would be best for the forum and expresses it. Member of the Gutter. ----> :patriot:
User Y has a belief about what would be best for the forum and expresses it. Not a Gutter Member. ----> CI Warrior.

Seriously, sometimes you guys are fucking stupid. I mean that in the best possible way, though.
I believe that the gutter is a very far cry from an institution that
engages in group think. It's true that many are excluded because they don't fit in, but the basis for "fitting in" isn't that one thinks like gutter, but rather that one is open to being razzed gutter style. There are all kinds of disagreement in the gutter. We don't follow each other 'cuz gutter, we dagger each other 'cuz gutter.

I've actually been dagger'ed a lot today, and it does not feel so great.

I installed a calendar mod. Unfortunately this seems to have the side effect of removing the last topic title for some reason. If this cannot be fixed, I will revert the addition of the calendar mod

Book'd up. Commencing the learning of HTML5 & CSS3 for the front page. Looks pretty simple to pick up.

What should I grab next?

I will take you a while harnessing all the power of CSS.

Though if you're bold you could go with either javascript or php/sql. GR might give you a hint or two on javascript and its difficulties (I'm not familiar with the language)

i have cleared the cache of all the forum styles, try ctrl+F5 a few times, maybe it will fix things.

We are still restoring things in the aftermath of the failed calendar experiment. sorry for the inconvenience. This allowed me to tweak some nice changes to the forum permissions, as you've noticed, I've put chat public for guests, if you disagree with this, let me know your opinion, it can be reverted.

Thank you for your patience again.

PS: made a quick reply sgames subsection in H2O and move hangman there.
