Thanks for the head's up. Recorded another DE >:)

3-1, lost to hexproof again. Why do I keep running into it when recording? Might be time for 4x Glaring Spotlight in the SB...

I haven't run up against hexproof once, I consider that incredibly lucky. I, however, run into maindeck Fiendslayer Paladin quite often :(

Magic Online ‏@MagicOnline 10m

(Mike) Magic Online currently doesn't have an ETA for fixing the known issue and coming online. It will be at least a couple of hours. #MTGO

usually when there is a mass server crash they auto-reimburse
Kait's right, they're going to auto reimburse everyone -http://community.wizards.com/content/blog/4067716

I would imagine he is on quite the warpath since the servers were down yesterday. I don't blame you for stepping aside and letting him through. I need to go on quite a tear (and avoid playing against any more hexproof) if I am going to qualify this season. Variance hasn't been on my side this month.

Zem you eucalyptus-eating coward of a man, are you going to talk some mtg with me one of these days or hide behind your time zone forever

I am undecided.

I was going to hopefully get my last 4 QPs I need to qualify yesterday since I actually had free time this weekend. BUT OF COURSE MODO IS OFFLINE ALL DAY. Lolz. Hopefully I can get them this week. Also side note, I'd like to eventually get in to modern -- of the decks I've seen played that are good, living end seems like the most fun to me. Is it worth playing that deck or not because I know getting into modern will be expensive and if I do go into it I want it to be worth it. Is it worth getting a version of that deck or is just really more of a t2 deck that sometimes gets there, haha. Either way, it looks like a really fun deck.

Living End can mise a bunch of free wins in game 1 because DRS is gone. It gets harder in game 2 because graveyard hate is so prevalent. It's also awful vs Twin combo since it can't kill until turn 5.

That said, it's not a terribly expensive deck and it attacks from a different angle. It's a good choice if people are moving away from GY hate and into combo hate.

It seemed like a lot of fun. TWOO even did a blood moon version of it that looked ridiculous, lol.

I hate that deck

I have no trouble with it, playing White lets me pack Rest in Peace for the sweet blowouts.

It is a full turn slower than burn even before the hate. I fear no Living End. It will catch a few people by surprise though.

I just think its a bad deck and eventually it will be like dredge in legacy. sometimes it shows up and makes a run, but never wins

I have very little frame of reference for modern, since I have not played it at all. I have watched some of the GPs with modern, watched a few videos on CFB and such of the different types, and know what the big guns are. That's about it lol. Living end of all the ones I saw looked the most fun, and I generally with have better results with a deck I have fun with because it keeps my interest. But living end could just be bad =D

If you want to talk Modern, I'm in. I have no interest in Standard and can't afford Legacy, so it's my jam. I've played it almost exclusively since INN block rotated.

What other decks are you looking into? What tournament format will you play it in?

Posted: Mon Mar 17, 2014 8:51 pm
by Kaitscralt
It's fine, for now. But the deck can't improve without extremely niche cards or mechanics and graveyard hate can and does improve constantly. Meanwhile, almost every other deck in Modern can easily get better tools.

Its something I'm going to have to save a certain amount for a few months anyway, what with saving for a house (once our short sale falls off our record in november) and all. Finally paid off the difference of that ridiculousness. Thanks a lot banks. Lol.

Io2:

Is playing magic like a giant reverse psychology experiment for your girlfriend? I spend hours with mine in Saturday, go into the office play a DE and suddenly she wants nothing more than to lay on the bed and play 20 questions while I'm concentrating.

Try having a 15 month old. She'll be a perfect angel until your draft/constructed queue fires then she will not stop smashing your keyboard. It helps that she is adorable beyond words, but Lord help me she knows exactly when to be a hooligan at the wrong time -- lol!

I don't follow your comment 100% but yea sorta. She is actually quite accommodating to my hobbies most of the time, but when she hasn't been in town for a while she gets pissed if I don't spend my free time with her. She used to try to talk to me all the time while I played but I finally told her that I was literally throwing money away because I couldn't focus and was misplaying everytime she talked while I played, so now she mostly shuts up in the rare times when I play in her presence.

She also doesn't like that MODO costs money and always encourages me to play "free magic" (cube with my friends) instead.

She does ask how my "rupees" are doing, which she finds very cute as a Zelda fan. I can't stack up to The Thunder From Down Under, but getting a purple one soothed my fragile ego.

Just like the damn puppy. She'll be asleep in her dog bed for 15 minutes, so I'll enter an 8 man and she'll wake up projectile vomiting right when round 1 starts.

Pip sits next to me and draws. Sometimes asks about the game state if I look challenged but otherwise says nothing.

Btw to all with lots of boosters from theros:

Wizards changed sealed daily to:

• 4 Match Wins: 9 Theros, 3 Born of the Gods boosters, and 3 QP
• 3 Match Wins: 6 Theros, 3 Born of the Gods boosters, and 1 QP
• 2 Match Wins: 2 Theros and 1 Born of the Gods booster

Pay: 3 Theros, 3 Born of the Gods boosters, and 2 Event Tickets.

It gives quite good value. 3-1 gives you 3 theros - 2 tixes + cards.

Nice, something to do with those packs I've been sitting on.

Is it a 3/3 pack split for pack construction? I played a bit of THS-only sealed and didn't enjoy the format. I hope BNG improves the experience.
