That's kind of how I feel about Kaze's claim, as well as Stardust's little "recruit me" statement. The thing is with the order of actions at night we know that even if a cop investigates them they're not going to get a result if they really are neutral at this time, because of the drug sells coming second. This basically means it's a gambit in their favor. I definitely have got my eye on those two.

I'm of the belief that this day is basically pregame:
no lynch no deaths, the only thing that happens before tomorrow is a judge gets picked and some night actions happen.
tonight factions will recruit and investigations will happen.
tomorrow we will have a judge and then will basically have a lynch or timeout of some type.
people will attempt to use their groups influence to get a judge elected that can advance their goals (perhaps someone whose largest scum read is not on their team, or a member of the faction themselves) and recruit more people to win.

It's a pretty simple concept with some lofty implications on changing group dynamics.
