Polukranos is mean, but can be chumpblocked for ages. Same goes for big Oozes and monstrous Swallowers.

Polis may be sweet though. Monster GR has a pretty good weenie matchup at least theoretically.[/quote:28nbtk8k]

Re: Theros Rakis list

Madcap Skills is quality mainboard tech, when your opponent's deck will be the most diluted it will ever be. Not many 2 cmc cards can run away with a game if left unanswered. Even if you have to overextend it and 2-1 yourself, keyword_haste.deck will offer you ample opportunities to get value for it. Obviously, skills comes out post-board when your opponent has loaded up on cards that try to affect your boardstate ASAP.

Chandra's Phoenix is a direct 1-1 swap with Mogis's Marauder against U/x. I like stealing G1s with a very fast, aggressive mulligan and then boarding into a grindy deck against opponents' postboard optimization.

Erebos gives this deck 2 things it really wants against against control shells: more cards and something to spend mana on. Definitely going to spot test this dude for a backwater cash tournament this Saturday.
So high, so low, so many things to know.

Fate, lets make Rakdos a project. Is there an appropriate thread for us to take over? I enjoyed working on gruul with you and while I said I refuse to play rakdos, I'll play this deck if it's good enough.
You gotta understand, I love the beatdown. I really do. I always have.

Beatdown is hard, though.

Currently utilizing Rubblebelt Maaka to get past Caryatids. They have been good in testing so far.

Lets do it.

It is good enough, dreadbore spike jester and mogis marauder is where you want to be at right now im convinced.

The red MU is also very skill intensive which Im sure you'll love

Ain't nobody got time for deck tags.

And Fate, PoloK vs. Deadbridge? What do your results yield?
Probably a meta call. Atm I say Polk is better. Very few removal spells hit him and if you just untap land and monstrous for 2 chances are you kill an x/2 and whatever poor sap has to block it.

Bridge is a house vs midrange though

They are both 5/5, so the removal thing is like whatever.
I agree with the old argument probably done by Fate. When do you want to use your mana sinks - when your fatty is on the field, or when it's gone and all you're left with is pathetic mana dork (because mana dorks are ALWAYS pathetic).
I'd play singleton Polukranos. He's not bad obviously. Can kill a weenie and swing for 7 on turn 5. That's pretty cool. But I'd be far more sold on Polis Crusher and Deadbridge.

Comment on removal is just to prempt "it will die before activation" comments which don't apply to the bug obv.

Against an aggro deck, I would rather kill their creature especially some trash like firefist striker.

If they are on control or midrange then bug, if they are on aggro, hydra

I've mentioned that on Zem's stream already, but... behold before the one and only manabase.
Lands (25)
4 Godless Shrine
4 Blood Crypt
4 Sacred Foundry
3 Temple of Silence
3 Temple of Triumph
1 Rakdos Guildgate
2 Mountain
1 Swamp
1 Plains
2 Mutavault
It's supposed to be able to handle:
- Boros Reckoner
- Blood Baron
- Stormbreath
- Aurelia
- Obzedat
- Chained to the Rocks
- Dreadbore

I guess he REALLY needs Purge the Profane to handle all the shocks he gets every game.

Haiiro, where did you come from? Your first post was in the clan thread, and right from the get-go, you started calling us out on our shit. I think I like you.
Agreed, I am a fan. Props
And I echo this statement. This clan needs some counterbalance to stimulate critical thinking.

Dude, bro, let me fucking tell you.

We mostly walked along the riverside and talked. I learned things.

She's a violinist

and a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do

we share the same taste in music and know the same semi-obscure late 90's bands

she is working towards a degree in Economics, but has a passion for THEORETICAL PHYSICS

and she is the first person I've ever met that has both awed and intimidated me with their intelligence

plus she's pretty damn cute

I knew NONE OF THIS going in, by the way(except the last one)

I'm ecstatic

it went well.

PoloK at the moment. Being able to remove our opponents shit is more important than ever now that Fanatic of Mogis is going to be the card to beat against red and its really the toughest match-up.

Between planeswalkers, boon satyr, and rampagers, my dorks dont feel that pathetic

If Esper takes over the meta deadbridge is definitely the way to go. Far//Away and Verdicts fuck you up REAL bad. scavenging onto a dork/free satyr is your best way to stay in the game.

I don't think these forums cache properly. I didn't see your post, Fate's, Kaze's response, or my own post til I just refreshed. Have had similar problems frequently. Does the auto-login not work for anyone else?

When Theros comes, the first thing I want to do is to test out Steam Augury and see if I will like it better than Thoughtflare (It's quite bad thanks to its speed, with Opporturnity around to boot). And hopefully something to replace Sleep. It's sad to see it leave standard.

WTF...I can't watch the deck tech, but I will just bet he's talking about how well-positioned it is in the current meta. Published on SCG before states...and I sure don't see any credits to the brewer. Z gets screwed without a kiss yet again, and tech is out of the bag.

Hacks. :flame:

We should really (and I mean both of us, because I'm thinking of taking a leave from SCG once I decide to find another job) just start writing for another website. If we do, these scrublords have to either cite credit or lawyer up.

Kijin is seriously one of the dumbest motherfuckers on this forum. The sharking thread was evidence enough to prove that.

I'd ask what he does as far as being a mod, but half of the mods on this forum don't do anything at all so it's really a pointless question.
