What I did was I downloaded copy from a person who made a lot of 4-0 and 3-1 in daily events. It didnt run any of those, also run paladin and soldier and not angel in the sb.

Play and draw your 1 copy of Blind Obediance and you'll beat R/w all the time. I literally cannot beat that card.

ok, I want people's opinion on this since it just cost me round 2 of a prelim and I think I made a fine play but maybe it was wrong.
I'm at 8 life after just thoughtseizing my opponent so I know he only has land in hand.
in play I have a 2/5 deathtouch gorgan and he has a 2/2 and a 6/5 trampler. I only have 6 land and none in hand. however, in hand I have a 4 creatures, one of them is the intimidate bestow creature. he draws, and attacks with both dudes. how do you block?

Yeah buddy! 3-1'd a Modern daily, got 6 packs for the clan and a QP. Can I give these to anyone, or are they locked to my account?

I havne't jumped on the Archangel sideboard plan, seems unnecessary and I don't have the tickets right now to test it. I am waiting for Brimaz.

the 4th jace might be better than something I have in the main, I personally have never felt great running 4 of a non-Domri planeswalker, i hate dead cards in my hand.
sideboard is good. ratchet bomb, planar cleansing, celestial flare can all be replaced, maybe by brimaz, although i like having at least 1 ratchet bomb around. maybe 1 domestication although it's been winning me mucho games today so i think two is good.

i will be comparing my list with the GP results and see what i like and dislike.

in my experience with RtR jace is that the second copy is rarely a dead card. mini FoF is sometimes all you'll be able to use the first one for so the second one will be able to stick

Well I'm in the finals for MOCS1 and MOCS2 I wonder if any of you guys are good enough to join me
Obv. will be grinding for MOCS3 once it hits Weds not sure what build I want to play yet, I may just get a Bx Devotion deck ready or amp up a almost Boros Burn list.

I will be in a MOCS 2 prelim, it's too late for MOCS 1 and I will start grinding MOCS 3 with Standard.

I find I am able to keep my Jace's alive relatively easily in this format, barring Hero's Downfall .

That's the best (as in hardest to play against) UW list I've seen Kait. I'll hit you up online sometime if you want to play Red decks

I do, and the list isn't perfect but it's been performing well enough.

It was really close. I was playing esper, he was playing big boros. I won game 1 at 2 life, he won game 2 with a boros charm off the top, and he won game 3 with a boros charm when I was at 1 and I could revelation for 3..

so I didn't play against hate-bears or splinter twin which are probably my two work matchups, or pod which is not a great matchup but I've only played it a few times so I'm not sure how bad it is
Posted: Mon Jan 27, 2014 7:09 am
by Mcdonalds
prolly bad, although, cant you time them out on mtgo?
is BG Rock still good, need to get a deck together for the ptq season and it gives me an excuse to finish my set of Verdant Catacombs/Marsh Flats

How is Soul Sister vs Jund, Affinity and Pod?
Posted: Mon Jan 27, 2014 12:29 pm
by Kaitscralt
Soul Sisters sucks
Posted: Mon Jan 27, 2014 3:01 pm
by imopen2
Jund seems to be a good matchup and so is affinity. Pod, like I said, is probably not a good matchup but I've only played against it a few times.
The deck is actually a lot better than it looks, but it also has bad matchups against some of the more prevalent strategies like splinter-twin so I don't think it's the deck I'll take to GP Minneapolis.

If you want to build UW in Standard, I would look at Brad Nelson's top 4 list as a starting point. At least run more Last Breath. It's too good right now.

So how do you guys farm your QPs? I mostly draft but I now have a deck to play in Modern, Standard, and Block as well...
I was surprised to find that getting second in an 8-man gets you a QP. Is that the easiest place to get them?
Posted: Wed Jan 29, 2014 12:36 am
by hamfactorial
3-1 in a daily will get you a QP which is reasonable if you have a good deck. Slower than an 8man but better EV along the way.
