Messed around with Dega Burn today. 10 wins (Slivers, Br Aggro, Esper, UW, Jund Monsters, Esper, MBD, MBD, Rw Burn, Rw Devotion), 2 losses (RG Monsters, RB Aggro). Deck is so fun to play. 25 land, 4 BO main, 3 Rakdos's Return, 4 Dreadbore, 4 WLH, all the 2-mana burn; 12 haste creatures, 3 chain SB.

Basically, I want cards that arent dead vs. BW/Esper, and Chained to the Rocks main are.
while satyr firedancer is AWESOME against esper... LOL
At least firedancer swings for 1 you condescending fuck.

Also kills mutavault.

Awesome? No. Better than Chained? Yes

Great!! :hi:

Amc- you are 5-1 vs GR? Whats your secret!
Sorry for only answer now. I have 9~11 cards in sideboard for that matchup. Usually board in 9 cards :D
I'm having some luck too, and all the games are usually really close. Sometimes the times we switch the pace of inflict damage it's
important, I think the most important is when you are playing this matchup (in the middle of the game) create a line of play that can deal all the damage you will need to win. In the early game I usually try to control some of their threads and don't get the things go out of your range/control, and then switch the pace and go to the win. Try to use your life like a resource it's very important, they can swing for more than 10 in a row, Mutavault is a great blocker in this matchup and a bad attacker...

I think that once you're more comfortable with the calculations and sequencing, gr is a fine matchup. Definitely easier from their side to play, but it's fine. You do have the turn 2 nutdraw of blind obedience too.

Its also about beginning to understand certain plays being good in certain scenarios.

Like, sometimes Chaining their Courser is in fact the correct play. Other times, not touching a single creature/planeswalker and going to 2 but burning them out is the correct play.

Its all about knowing what to do when, and realising what the deck is capable of.

Been trying out wear/tear today -- I've boarded it in 90% of the games I've played, and it's been a blowout whenever I can play it. Found 2 more relevant targets -- elixir of immortality and pithing needle. Pithing needle is not *that* big a deal, but getting them when they try to crack elixir is pretty awesome too. I smacked a courser earlier with it, and played a mirror just now where the guy t2 BO, and I immediately killed it, and he snap conceded. LOL.

This deck make me math much more and think much more than my Esper control/mill deck from last Year. It's very exciting of play :D

Do you guys see this Boros Deck Win (link - http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/e ... westvalley that win a PTQ (I think), with 2/3 of our sideboard in the 60 main? Can this be a good meta call for MTGO?

It looks like the BBCode doesn't support HTTPS.

There was some discussion of this deck on the R/W/x Aggro thread. Montu is testing a variant of
it, if I recall correctly.

Super simple version:

redzone just won a premier, so i would say it is a good meta call. a premier is the best you can do outside of the big events (mocs, ptq's, etc), meaning his performance is likely the best showing online for the deck yet. his list will be
posted on the wizards site in a few days.

So I just played an 8 man with 3 r/w burn mirror matchups. I won. That was pretty sweet.

Went 6-1 and won a GPT at my local store today with burn[DECK]
Creatures
4 Ash Zealot
4 Chandra's Phoenix

Spells
4 Lightning Strike
4 Boros Charm
3 Shock
4 Magma Jet
4 Searing Blood
4 Skullcrack
4 Warleader's Helix

Enchantment
2 Chained to the Rocks

Lands
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Temple of Triumph
3 Boros Guildgate
3 Mutavault
9 Mountain

Sideboard
4 Firedrinker Satyr
2 Chained to the Rocks
2 Blind Obedience
2 Mizzium Mortars
3 Viashino Firstblade
2 Spark Trooper
[/DECK]

Here is a quick rundown of my matches
R1 vs GW L 1-2
R2 vs mono white aggro W 2-0
R3 vs UW control W 2-0
R4 vs mirror W 2-0
R5 vs GW W 2-0
R6 vs GR W 2-1
R7 vs BUG control win 2-1

With more aggro in my local meta I usually run 3 SFD main but decided to give this version a shot. The deck still felt good but I did feel like I had to work harder on some of the wins that were easier for me before so Im most like
going to move SFD back in for local games. Still very happy with the way the deck feels and always enjoy being "the red player" in our area

Don't play assemble. Card is going to disappoint you. Trust me.

Ok.

3rd mortars it is.

That last slots better served as either mortars/dragon/sparkier/BloB/wild ricochet.

I think you're to the point where your board is right where you want it, and you either want the last slot be something redundant for a matchup your worried about or have something uniquely powerful that can blow up a game.

by zemanjaski
4th Mutavault in the board is so good; just want to hit my land drops vs. control.

Vs. MBC and BW; board out Ash Zealot and Shock; blank all their removal and just burn them out. Very satisfying.

Vs. Little aggro; become a control deck that 1-for-1s then kill them with Phoenix and Mutavault (that's your ca).

Posted: Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:49 am
by zemanjaski
I think 3rd mortars is the most appealing. Most cross matchup application.

Posted: Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:49 am
by Jonnymagic
I've been super happy with wear/tear. It's over-performed in every matchup I've used it.

Posted: Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:52 am
by DriftingLifted
I was gonna go with Wear/Tear over the Assemble. Cause fuck Whip.

Mizzium Mortars is tempting though. That card is not leaving my 75 for any foreseeable reason.

Posted: Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:53 am
by zemanjaski
I guess id consider a single. What are you usually destroying? Would Glare of Heresy be better?

First Mortars slows them down, second Mortars ends all resistance.

It's looking like a classic Zem sideboard now. Method to the madness I assure you.
