I absolutely plan on playing Chandra SB at least. Against anything that constantly pops your dudes she slides right in for Fanatic.

Of course, it's probable that she's also better MD than Fanatic, but I want to test that first.

I really need to do some testing. I'm completely in love with Arc Slogger 2.0 + Chandra the Mind Sculptor.

I agree that she's most likely better than Mogi. One thing is for sure: we'll be seeing a lot of Chandra in the next year.

Mechanical engineering, I work on the consulting side of HVAC and refrigeration.

Working on the deck lists for the gauntlet thread, anyone have links to GOOD Theros lists for these decks:

Deck 3: UW Control
Deck 4: UB Control
Deck 5: Charlie Murphy
Deck 6: GW Midrange
Deck 7+: 3-color things ported from last season that people are going to try and force

Thinking of using LK's lists for decks 3&4. Decks 1 and 2 are MonoR and Big Boros/Sledge, going to use decks from our lists for those two.
Some men just want to watch the planes burn. . .and most of them are here.

For shits and giggles, this is what I'm going to play for FNM (if I can make it):

[deck]Khaos Deck Wins[/deck]
Taking it back Old-School. Why? Because I don't care. :D

I threw together the very same MD about two hours ago (coppied from your write-up). I loved the living, breathing, fucking fuck out that deck for the better part of the current Standard, and I figured that there is nothing that I'd be happier playing. I did you one better, though, and kept the original SB (subbing Bonfires for FotF).

I am all in on the States train! Last fall states was a very memorable day for me. First semi-real event 2 weeks after coming back to MTG after a 12 year break and got top 4 thanks to the amazing deck-builders on here! Magic had me hook line and sinker after that.

First though, I have a StarCity Open coming to town Release weekend! Not a whole lot of time to get cards but I have a good shop crew and can probably pull together most of what I need. I also ordered 2 boxes and should have credit for another 2 boxes.

As for a deck, and someone saying there hasnt been much on Sligh, there actually has been but it probably got buried at MTGS when they switched up the forums , and buried in this thread.

I want to play the deck best positoned which is gonna be REALLY hard cause this will be the first real results to go off and a lot of crazy decks. This leads me to sligh as it can steal games much easier than Big Red. On the
other hand, people know that Red Sligh is gonna be out there and people will want to be prepared.

I personally am up for anything Skype/Cockatrice related as far as testing goes. I am gonna start testing Big Red and also with the White or Black splashes as I have tested Red Sligh a good bit both in person and on cockatrice.

My FNM tomorrow is RTR block constucted as well, and Extended... :) I have decks for both, but I just have to try goblins in the extended tourney. The deck is close to the Modern variant I have so it's good practice.

It is. But events sanctioned before August 7th can be run before October 8th. Says so on http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/A ... r/07222013

So pretty much the last chance to play it for me.

About UR.

I´m thinking Satyr, Omenspeaker and Chimera (+ 2 odd Phoenixes) plus a bunch of tempo tools and red Giant Growths a´la Titans Strength and Dynacharge. It will fuel Chimera and alongside Quicken and Dragon Mantle you have quite a number of deck smoothing tools. The whole thing is an odd red tempo idéa: the inflaters recycle themselves or at least scrys, so it´s a sort of red counter thing where you allow them to chump and kill their expensive midange or late game guys with critter + growth or if they can´t or wont block, well... Else you simply tempo with V-End, Charm or Magma Jet. Approaching end game Charm or Augury digs up a Chimera and fuels it even more in the process.

8 cantrips + 18 Scry's + 5 filters and Chandra. Does it look bonkers?

[deck]
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Omenspeaker
2 Chandra's Phoenix
4 Spelleater Chimera

4 Dragon Mantle
2 Dynacharge
4 Quicken
4 Titan's Strength
3 Izzet Charm
3
Magma Jet
3 Voyage´s End
1 Chandra Pyromaster
2 Steam Augury

3 Island
4 Izzet Guildgate
4 Steam Vents
9 Mountain[/deck]

Omenspeaker isn't constructed playable. Actually think about what the card does for a moment. Do you really want a 1/3 no abilities?

I'd go:
4 Frostburn Weird
4 Young Pyromancer

For your early creatures. Both are super well positioned right now against any aggro or any control deck. Because your not always going to be aggro, you want more flexibility in your creatures; Satyr only aggros; Omenspeaker only blocks ~ they're at a crossroads.

Spell load out I'm less sure on sorry. Without Snapcaster the deck has some trouble making up CA; so maybe the discard Phoenix + Chandra plan is best? I do think you want the full 4 Magma Jet and 1 Mortars (for random blowouts).

It does have 3 Chained to the Rocks and 4 Dreadbore to stave off the early herd.. and Reckoner is great against Sligh.

The mana is not so good that they're always going to chain removal and the deck has no filtering until turn 3 at sorcery speed, so who knows what they'll draw in what order. Historically this sort of deck is good for Mono R and post board you'll be replete with threatens and burning earth. I like that matchup a lot.

The more I think about it, Ember Swallower is a really good card. At least when you consider the current card pool.

Is anyone else on the blitz plan for states? Seems like there's lots of talk of Kuroda/Boros midrange, but not a lot of sligh brewing.
I'm assuming everyone is on the blitz plan, so I'm going to play Anger and wreck it. Rakdos has mad game.

When the worst card in your deck is Rakdos's Return...you're doing something right
