The fuck redbro? Surely they can't do that.
I would be upset if not for the fact that I was already considering leaving anyway. I'd been actively applying for different jobs during my entire time there. Despite being a natural-born liar, which made me an excellent salesman, I really hate working retail/sales because I feel like such a whore. This was no different, I was working for a pressure washing company doing sales. It sucked.

It was an "extra income" job,
I live here for free and am really just working to add money to the hoard. Now that I don't have to pay for my mother's in-home nurse, I've really had no need for a job. I got one as a way to get out of the house and do something that wasn't League of Legends and MTGS/D2R. Been saving for a couple of years now to open a LGS, just want to have a rather gratuitous amount of money when I do that. (Currently sitting at $9,400/$45,000 towards my goal.)
Sales is awful. Congratulations on your unemployment. Fuck em.

I think I'm gonna miss Faithless Looting with it rotating out soon. Where is this Looting part of the color pie Red was promised?

For the time being, I'll be playing that Past in the Flames deck till it rotates.

If you're saving up for a store, Alex, I'd suggest putting half of everything you put away into buying Eternal format staples when they're cheap. I had a buddy that started doing that about 5 years ago - just picking up Eternal staples when they were rotating out of Standard and hording them.

He sold them all at the Modern Masters thing in Vegas for close to $20,000.

Fuck... I'm going to start doing that.

If anybody hasn't been to the FoS t-shirt thread yet, I insist that you head over there ASAP and let red know what you want. Time is of the essence if we want to keep it affordable AND represent the best damn Clan at States.

Gush is played in basically every mono blue list since ever?

Temporal Fissure hasn't been the problem in quite a long while. It's been the fact that the deck had literally no bad matchups and could often just slam down an Eldrazi that the opponent couldn't beat as soon as turn 4. And this was WITH countermagic backup.
Gush is a 1-2 of in SOME delver lists, It's played in Mono-blue control, but that deck isn't good to begin with. I'm still not sure what this mysterious unbeatable deck is that plays Ulamog's crusher, but is still going to be a problem with cloudpost banned is... As i've said, Mono-blue control hasn't been good in a long time. I could see some sort of U/R postless control deck, that uses the same control shell as izzet post,
but with fair mana, but evey format has control decks, it won't be anything special... I'm more worried about delver and MBC, but both have some distinctly bad matchups to keep them in check. Until we see how everything shakes out in October, this is purely speculation, but I'm pretty confidant the format is heading in a positive direction.

I don't think you're in any position to get pissy here, O Illiterate One.
It sure must be nice to get away with blatant insults towards people because you're the Mod and no ones going to give themselves an infraction. :-/
You can always take your concerns to an Admin... but they'll just call you a twit and dismiss it.
This is still not the place. --Senori

Asked Senori where we were suppose to talk about it when the threads just get closed in CI and we just get flamed by staff in their Help Desks.

I'm not expecting a non-bullshit answer.

It's really not even worth trying to talk to the staff over there. I've got a gimmick and I just go about my business. If I get banned (again), I'll just create another one.

So, STATES. Same as last year, I'm happy to put together a testing group / think tank. Should we get on Skype? Who wants to be involved?

I'd be more than happy to be involved. Would we use Cockatrice for testing?

Yeah. Well be taking turns playing gauntlet decks, so that's best I think.

I'll tentatively agree. I've been considering picking up wireless 4G so I can play on my laptop at work anyway. Figured it'd be a good way to get more gaming in than I currently can with my schedule.

I'm definitely in then. I'd love to get some quality testing done since I don't really get a long with any local players enough to hang out with them for hours on end to test.

I probably won't be going to States (working on my thesis this semester), but I will test when I can. Rak Control is super sweet.

Reading Reid Duke's GP Detroit Modern article about his Jund featuring Chandra deck. The common theme he's very obviously stressing is to play a deck you're most experienced with. Seems to echo what many folks here advise.

Hmm, that mention of Skype has me thinking of ways to play paper Magic online. I can't afford to get involved with online, but a Skype game of Magic would be rather interesting to do.

That also has me thinking of creating and maintaining a contact list for our FoS members: names, addresses, alternate email, online usernames. It'd be strictly voluntary of how much information a person would want to share, but it could be useful. I'm fairly decent at Excel, so I could get it started.

Thoughts?

We could found a charity to help members who've been dismembered by red's member.

If you incorporate in Mississippi, you only need 3 incorporators and the paperwork costs about $100, then you file with the Fed for tax-exemption.

Here's the link for religious organizations: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1828.pdf

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to States since my wife has to work that weekend, leaving me in charge of the boys. But I'd like to take part in testing if anyone is on MODO.
