Bananas in North America are gross. Go to a country where they produce the things and they taste much better.

They'll still be mushy. It's mostly the texture I dislike about bananas.

Heh, Trump the unlynchable godfather.

Megiddo ran a Presidency themed mafia game back on MTGS. Instead of voting for a lynch, you vote for the president. They alone decided on the person to die that Day. Could be fun.

I'm so unhappy with my country right now, you guys.

Like, seriously, I dislike comparing things/people to Hitler on principle alone...but Trump is Hitler reborn!!

And Hillary? As much as I'd love to have a woman president...she's not the right one.

I'm feeling the Bern...BERNIE FOR PRESIDENT.

But, seriously, he's the ONLY candidate that makes me feel like he actually cares about everyone, not just the wealthy.

I'm scared for the future.

Hillary Clinton won't be perfect, but she'll do an okay job at not completely screwing up. The Republican party will implode over the next couple elections, either splitting into multiple parties (finally relieving the US of the two party system that is largely at fault for your current situation) or reinventing itself into something not-crazy. That kind of depends on Americans themselves changing though, which is a tough one... This also depends on the Republicans losing the election... which is going to happen... right?

Seriously though, Trump is a lot like Hitler. Promising a stronger economy, scapegoating based on race, desperate followers willing to believe anything...

I think it would be cool to have Bernie Sanders in office. Dude calls himself a socialist, but he's hella far from it. Nothing would get done thanks to the Republicans, largely the same as with Obama, but at least it would send a message.

Mostly because not a single one of the candidates is any good. Trump and Cruz are crazy, Rubio is a cyborg, Clinton is a liar, Sanders is a socialist... Seems to me that Kasich is the only sane one available, but there's no way he's going to win (and I honestly don't know the guy well, just have a good impression from the few debates I've seen).

Still, I'd rather have a liar in office than a crazy person.

I love Obama. I'm pissed the Republicans just did everything they could to stand in his way out of spite. I know they'll do the same damn thing for the next Democratic president.

The two-party system is shit. It's been shit since it was started. It will always be shit.

I'm reminded of one of the greatest South Park episodes ever; the election between Turd Sandwich and Giant Douche.

UGH I'm coming to Canada, Stardust. Regina's the place to be, eh? What's Saskatchewan all aboot? Hell, you guys DID just make it easier to become a citizen. Used to, you had to live there for 6 years. Now, you only have to live there for 3.

Nice use of "eh". I'm impressed. :cool2:

Regina is not the place to be. It's fine, but I'll be moving back to Alberta in the next couple of years. People there are the most conservative in the country, which means it's a little further left than your Democrats. ^_^

BC is also sweet, but expensive. Depends what you're looking for though. If you're into "big city" life, Ontario's the only place to be (though Vancouver and Calgary do a reasonable impression).

Not gonna happen. I think that's what I'd rather have happen as well (not that I get any say in such things), but his tax schemes for how to stop the 1% are insane. You can't tax each transaction on stocks, it'll make your entire economy so much more fragile without the liquidity that they represent. I doubt that he's serious, pretty sure he's only spouting that to appeal to the base, but then we get into the whole liar thing again regardless.

By the way, none of this is why I'm moving. I like Alberta because my (and my wife's) family are there and because hiking is no fun when you go from flat prairie to more flat prairie. You just seem like a bit of a city girl (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sure we can find a place for you though. ;-)

We're currently leaning towards a town called Black Diamond, about a 20 minute drive South of Calgary. Good access to the mountains, good access to the city, good farmlands surrounding in case my wife is actually serious about trying to farm. Sounds good to me!

See, I'd want something, like, on the outskirts of a big city, I think.

Of course, I'd also want to work from home so I NEVER have to go outside in the winter. Real snow's scary for a Texan.

Vancouver rarely gets snow. Lots of rain in the winter, but the temperature stays above freezing for the most part. It's a nice city, but like I said, expensive.

Calgary's okay that way too. Big dumps every now and then, and cold snaps that'll last a week or two, but the snow never gets a chance to really pile up since Calgary gets what's called a Chinook every couple weeks. Warm air blows in from the mountains and raises the temperature up to t-shirt weather (probably light jacket weather for you) for a couple days. Makes for a nice break from the freezing.

Funny story: Immediately after posting this I went to lunch. Folks there were talking about Donald Trump. I didn't say a word, but within ten seconds of entering the room Trump was being compared to Hitler. Couldn't help but smile. :p

From my dealings in Moscow I found out that its much more comfortable if its like -7ºC than 0 to -2ºC, and you probably know why
