I'd like to try it with other Unleash creatures as well. Cackler, Chainwalker, Splatter Thug, Hellhole Flailer (two extra power, then 3 more from the Ordeal), Exava...
What about bloodthirst? Stormblood Berserker only needs to attack once. There's gotta be something there.. right?

Could be, I've only thought about Standard yet. But Modern have better spells overall, so I'm not sure if it's worth it to play Ordeal just for one more power/toughness on the attack followed by 3 damage.

Yeah, it's entirely too easy to be 2-for-1ed with Lightning Bolt everywhere in Modern.

Destructive Revelry, [mana]RG[/mana], Instant: Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Destructive Revelry deals 2 damage to that permanent's controller.

Modern R/x aggro and burn, rejoice!

It's a pretty slick card :)

If you're on RW or three color burn, I highly recommend [card]Hide // Seek[/card] to get around indestructible stuff, recursive enchantments (Rancor) and artifacts that trigger on destruction (Wurmcoil Engine).

It can, as a bonus, pull the only wincon from a gifts deck, gain some life to survive an alpha strike, remove a 1-of from a pod chain or just give a free look through your opponent's deck.

It's Monday Night Modern for me tonight.

I'm gonna run Goblins, but I'm kinda pissed that I can't find a 3rd Shared Animosity for the deck.

I have no clue what to expect tonight so I hope my board can do some work. I'm just not liking the idea of running into Electrolyze or Pyrocasm. Or Soul Sisters.

[deck]
Goblins 30
4 Goblin Guide
4 Akki Avalanchers
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Legion Loyalist
4 Mogg War Marshal
4 Goblin Bushwhacker
4 Goblin Chieftain
2 Goblin King

Reach 10
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Goblin Grenade
2 Shared Animosity

Land 20
2 Cavern of Souls
2 Teetering Peaks
16 Mountain

Sideboard
3 Faerie Macabre
2 Blood Moon
2 Dismember
2 Combust
2 Smash to Smithereens
2 Electrickery
2 Arc Trail
[/deck]

If anybody has any suggestions for me in the next few hours, I'm all ears.

Torpor Orb in the sideboard will help out immensely vs Soul Sisters, Pod and Twin, hurting only your Bushwhacker.

Leyline of Punishment if you're really worried about Soul Sisters. You can also run Torpor Orb if you want a card that's more broadly applicable to the field (Pod, Tooth and Nail, etc).

EDIT: ninja'd. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that Torpor Orb doesn't turn off Martyr of Sands, and Martyr into Ascendant is GG. I like Phyrexian Revoker naming Martyr from the side in my AIR deck (again due to it's relevance throughout the field) but that obviously doesn't fit into your Goblin theme.

It's impossible to stop the Martyr opener if you're on the draw and they play a T2 Martyr with a mana up. I play Ensnaring Bridge in my burn deck, but that hurts your dudes-sideways plan.

Actually, Pithing Needle would do it.

Ham, Torpor Orb stops Mogg War Marshal and Foundry Street Denizen too, unfortunately. So that's out of the question. I figure Electrickery, Combust, Dismember, and Arc Trail (along with Lightning Bolt) could help me play crowd control. I assume that nothing short of a Skullcrack on T2 while the opponent decides to sac Martyr is going to save me from that nightmare.

Val, I love the idea of Leyline, but I'm afraid it's CMC is too costly. Also, any decks with access to white could probably remove whenever they needed to. I tend to not go over 3 lands at any given time because Akki Avalanchers is such a house midgame and on.

I forgot to mention that I also have a Burn list, but I'm loathe to run it right now due to how soft it is to Lightning Helix.

[deck]
Creatures 10
4 Goblin Guide
4 Deathrite Shaman
2 Grim Lavamancer

Burn 30
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Rift Bolt
4 Lava Spike
4 Bump in the Night
2 Burst
Lightning
2 Shard Volley
2 Searing Blaze
2 Rakdos Charm
4 Skullcrack
2 Flames of the Bloodhand

Land 20
4 Mountain
4 Arid Mesa
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
3 Blood Crypt
1 Stomping Ground

Sideboard
3 Ensnaring Bridge
2 Volcanic Fallout
2 Rakdos Charm
2 Molten Rain
2 Searing Blaze
2 Dismember
2 Torpor Orb[/deck]

Here's my current Modern Burn list -
[deck]Modern Dega Burn[/deck]

It's a bit non traditional with the white splash and the Path to Exile, but it lets the games go a little long without making me look like an idiot. It helps against my soft game 1 matchups, Twin and Tron. Pod is still a nightmare in game 1, but my low creature density helps reduce my exposure to stuff like Redcap and Conscripts. Deathrite can also
remove Finks and other Persist creatures from the yard to help against Melira.

Maindeck Lightning Helix makes me less vulnerable to RDW/Burn, and Timely Reinforcements is the max lulz out of the sideboard.

Hey Ham, this one's for you.

New card from Theros:

Satyr Hedonist
1G
Creature - Satyr
R, Sac ~: Add RRR to your mana pool
2/1

Infernal Plunge bear. Would that fit in the list you brewed up with BTE, Simian Spirit Guide, Manamorphose, etc.?

If you can't run Torpor Orb or Leyline then honestly you just need to pray you don't get paired against SS. It's just not a winnable matchup unless your opponent draws and/or plays terribly.

Weight cutting to compete this weekend and testing UB control, so won't be making quite as many snarky yet insightful comments. I'm sure Alsx will pick up my slack.

Considering Ghost Quarter over Encroaching Wastes since it requires no mana, can shut down Cavern quicker, and effectively mills the opponent for one.

This is v2.0;

4 Augur of Bolas (much better than Snapcaster; you really need cheap interaction)
2 Snapcaster Mage

2 Ratchet Bomb (delightfully mediocre in all matchups)

2 Curse of Death's Hold
3 Dissipate
3 Doom Blade
1 Essence Scatter
3 Forbidden Alchemy
2 Opportunity
2 Syncopate
4 Think Twice
3 Tribute to Hunger (need the life gain)
2 Warped Physique

2 Dimir Guildgate (testing has revealed this to be better than three, at least online)
4 Drowned Catacombs
4 Nephalia Drownyard (concession to the MODO clock)
4 Watery Grave

8 Island
5 Swamp

Sideboard
1 Barter in Blood
1 Cremate
1 Curse of Death's Hold
2 Devour Flesh
2 Duress
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Jace, Memory Adept
2 Negate
1 Notion Thief
1 Pithing Needle
1 Tamiyo, the Moon Sage
1 Staff of Nin

Seems pretty close to my idea but there isn't a ton of wiggle room in the 75 anyway. I like Far / Away for late game Snapcaster and Augur buybacks while forcing a sac, but I should probably go down to two to get a third Tribute maindeck. I also ripped Ratchet Bomb upon first glance at the deck but after watching LSV pilot the deck I now understand that they are necessary.

Notion Thief seems too cute though. We generally don't care about Revelation once we get a Frownyard down.

One thing I'm not sure about yet is the sideboard plan vs Jund.

Notion Thief isn't good, but it's more fun than the 4th dissipate. Also randomly catches people when they only leave Negate or Dispel up
