It was an amazing show! I was there just as much for Trivium as for Iron Maiden. Can't remember which IM tour it was, "Early Days" or "A Matter of Life and Death"? Probably the later, or something else all together. I've lost track of my IM concerts. On the last one I went to we got Alice Cooper as warm-up, that was pretty ace as well. You saw Trivium AND Iron Maiden at the same show? I'm fucking jelly bro. I actually missed them on that tour.

I can't give much advice for you about your situation, I don't have the experience. I guess I'm blessed with a good life so far. However, I can give you the advice to not try to figure out your life by yourself. Find a good professional to talk to. My brother-in-law went through some really hard times a few years ago, depressions and all. He wouldn't have recovered as quickly as he did without counseling. It was still rough, but without help he probably wouldn't be where he is today. I'm not saying you need counseling, but it's good to have an outside part to discuss with and to help with changing thoughtI'm having this sudden realization that my relationship wasn't the only thing going wrong in my life and I have other things to fix.
patterns and stuff like that.

Platypus, you're probably right.
Weirdly enough, I feel a lot better today. Like, I can be myself more. I hadn't realized I was allowing myself to no be who I really am for the sake of another person. Everybody around me saw this except myself.

Shit, I did. Taxing ambitious mana bases in Legacy while playing a mono-colored deck is excellent, especially when paired with Price of Progress. Not necessarily, as pretty much no Legacy Burn decks run Wasteland. The deck doesn't NEED Wastelands either, although if he's playing Legacy burn he probably already has Wastelands.
The "damned if you do, damned if you don't" approach was awesome for me, and it was one of the first Legacy decks I ever top8'd with. Of course, this was also close to 7 years ago.

Khaos my brother, I wish I had wise words that could pull everything into some sense of right, but endings just suck, even when they are for the better. As others have said, know that we're here in whatever capacity can best serve you.

I certainly understand your reasoning, but the burn decks pack only 19 lands at most. Having 4 (to draw them in the beginning when they would matter) of those generating colorless mana in a deck that absolutely need to hit 2, preferably 3 red sources by turn three sounds too risky for me. An opening hand with only Mountain + Wasteland might buy you a turn or two, but might just as well turn back your clock just as much or more. So running Wastelands is too risky for too little gain.Shit, I did. All this talk of Wasteland has me thinking about Ghost Quarter in both Standard and Modern. We're likely to see a lot of Mutavaults in the next few months, and GQ seems like a nice way to deal with them without taking up a spell slot.
It also lets me deal with the Urza lands in Modern, and the rage-inducing Celestial Colonnade.

Different times, I guess, but I can't see Legacy burn today not wanting to stop its opponents from resolving relevant spells, especially considering the average converted
mana cost of the deck. Suspend Rift Bolt into Waste your blue source seems like exactly the type of thing you'd want to be doing.

Not just me then lol.Thats what I am almost on the fence about...putting in another 1-drop.I think the points he makes about needing an aggressive 1 drop; needing good mana; needing to impact the board and be proactive are all good points that are worth understanding if you're a developing red mage.
The deck is really full on 2 drops
BTE
Ash Zealot
FireFist Striker
Lightning Mauler
I do also like Mogg Flunkies..
Ugh those last minute decisions morning of a PTQ...always drive myself nuts

Best is subjective. I went to a legacy tournament where I played storm three times and played about a dozen cards in the whole tournament. That wasn't fun at all.As somebody who play legacy tourneyments every week, i feel sorry for the ones who can't. You my freinds are missing out on a lot of fun time with the best format in magic

Well, like I said, there are plenty of decks that can be invested into safely as both Modern and Legacy decks. Maverick isn't an amazing Modern deck, but it beats Scapeshift pretty handily even before sideboarding, ([card]Best is subjective. Aven Mindcensor[/card] and Knight of the Reliquary fetching Ghost Quarter is big game against them) and that's not a bad place to be right now. It's actually a pretty good Legacy deck though.

technical you are right, but i digress, still the best. Sucks that you got turned into a walking pincushion by storm (Assumning you are on burn), but that is just the cylical nature of the meta.Best is subjective. Oh, the lolz I've been having for the last few hours with my buddies; one of them being Jack Daniels.
Suddenly, Modern seems a bit more fun.

Well fuck. I completely scrubbed out of the PTQ today. I brought Jund Midrange but just didn't get there - after going 0-0-2 (drew against mirror and UWr control), things didn't improve.
On the positive side, there was a vendor there who was selling cards cheaper than you can find them online, which is the opposite of most event vendors I've seen. I picked up a playset of Mutavault for $42, so now I can build the red deck(s) that I really want to start running.
And with the Mutavault pickup, I'm also a playset of Wastelands away from having a full legacy Merfolk list.
